being seemingly completely oblivious (at first) about what it is in that thread, yet bringing up dps judgement and meta gaming here, which is also supposedly something that 10000% will happen the second a hypothetical parser gets added according to a few people and is getting posted over and over and over and over as if they want it to happen, just to say that they were right
then later talking about it as if it's second nature and in this thread talking about those two things
sorry, but it seems disingenuous, since it looks like, at least to me, that you've already had made your mind up on the topic (and knew about it)
/shrug
so we're calling everyone that has a different opinion a troll, gotcha! I do like your passive aggressive toxicity, though
I've never played wow and the first time I came in contact with parsers was in FF through friends and acquaintances and I've never seen any of them use it to criticize, harass or bully someone, hell, I've never seen someone do that! The only times I've seen anything parsing related mentioned was someone in DF being proud of their numbers and people telling them to not talk about it in public
I need to hit my damn positionals damnit!
So I am going to show Naaura how it is done to put someone on ignore. I will go first
i will say i have noticed it, but the people that talk about it publicly arent people you should be worrying about yourself, this game has picked up a lot of steam over the past couple years. Those people didn't just appear out of the blue for the most part, i played WoW when i was a child. WoW refugees should be welcome, hopefully we'll see less people fall out of that toxic mindset over time.
Rather insufferably so, especially because it perceives itself as so supposedly friendly and non-toxic. In reality, it is no less prone to gatekeeping than any other community, as we are witnessing now with Asmongold and the reaction to him trying the game out. Much as I like this game, its community is far from a selling point to me, particularly on the NA side.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
To be fair though at least this player base is a lot better at putting up the façade that they're not toxic. Idk if that's better or worse. Think I'd rather have someone be toxic right to my face.
Those players are minority, but naturally you will come across them from time to time if you're unlucky.
Obvious solution is to just write them off and move on. Within my 2nd week into playing this game for first time, I actually met a random that suspect I came from WoW while I don't even know what the heck was "WoW", because I over-question how to perform certain mechanic correctly (it was one of the CT raid IIRC) & how to play some jobs decently. It took me a while to recognize what was this "WoW" people kept mentioning.
I'll happily counteract any gatekeeping with a guaranteed $10 gift card to Wendy's if he makes it through Heavensward.Rather insufferably so, especially because it perceives itself as so supposedly friendly and non-toxic. In reality, it is no less prone to gatekeeping than any other community, as we are witnessing now with Asmongold and the reaction to him trying the game out. All of the new players I have met have been nice and no drama. Do unto others, it’s good advice![]()
Different strokes for different folks. You prefer they say it behind your back, I prefer to know they're scum right then and there.
