I’m still waiting to see him address countless people wanting a playable ivalice moogle race. Many people have been asking for it for years, but I don’t recall anyone mentioning it to him, or him mentioning it himself.

He's said he doesn't think they can add any more races. Doesn't that answer requests for a specific race by default?

On top of this, heck, in the interview doesn't he go on to say they were finished with races after adding male Hroth and female Viera?
As much as I'm behind Ivalician Moogles I'm not sure we can expect anything other than a "no." : (

No, that leaves the possibility in the future. I'd prefer a solid "no". We don't need any more races, and we definitely don't need a furry small race.

What would be so bad about a moogle like playable race? How would it personally affect you in a negotiate way?

I'd get less customization overall, because a few people want to play a rat looking race.

why we don't need a small furry race? if you stated this so we can say "we don't need a beefy furry race", but in 5.0 we get then and i guess, less people asked for then than asked for a moogle race or another small race in the past.

I don't think we needed a beefy furry race (sorry male hroth), but we got them. What's done is done. We definitely don't need a furry small race, for one I think they look dumb, but on top of that they'd be horrifically limited. A resource drain for nothing.

Not really. It was his answer in 5.0 as well, yet here we are with male Viera becoming available in less than 6 months and female Hrothgars being in work as well, because while Yoshida thought they're done - the team decided that even if they can't do both at once - they still could do one at a time.

That said, asking for a new (altogether) race likely wouldn't work right now since Hrothgars aren't finished yet and they're working something on hairs and hats apparently (testing status huh? seems like something is in progress, after all). In future, though? Maybe, who knows. Especially if they will, in the end, rework existing armor system to make it less time/resourse demanding (which they seem to want to do though not with much of a success for now) - in that case making new races might become less of a chore than it is now. So as a whole, asking doesn't really hurt.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to more new races in the future, but they definitely need to get what we have, and what we will have soon-ish, in a better state before they go making another brand new "limited race", which would probably its state as well initially if the past is any indication.

One the one hand, sure. They said they couldn't do any more but then they did.

But the circumstances of that "one more after all" make it sound less likely, not more likely, that they'll relent again in future.

They said they didn't think they could afford to do any more races, and that's why they combined Viera and Hrothgar into a single split race. Then all the outcry happened and they looked at it and decided maybe they can just manage to squeeze one last pair of new models in to complete the existing races, if they put in some overtime to make it all happen, but there are still ongoing costs as a result of doing that.

So if it's already stretching resources to answer this request, it seems unlikely that they can give any more beyond it even if they want to.
