    Saying we'd lose something from making scouting aiming gear instead is kinda silly. Every gear set/collection only has about 3, maaaybe 4 at most visual designs. The rest are reskins or have the smallest tweak, like, one has shorter sleeves but is otherwise the same, lol. The only thing that'll change is having 3ish designs split between 5 gear sets instead of 7. So we just get less reskins.

    Think about the exarchic set. Fending and Maiming are basically just reskins. Scouting, Striking and Aiming are literally reskins. And Casting and Healing are basically reskins minus the headpiece. There are really only three appearances, split across 7 gear sets. So nothing changes, we're still getting the same 3ish appearances. Like, if you want a different colour, then just dye it. Think about the gear sets we've gotten in shadowbrings that aren't artifact gear, they're pretty much all like that.

    I would say SAM and Reaper need to switch gear sets. Reaper seems like it would be better suited to leather and cloth like a MNK and SAM would be better suited for the heavy armor of DRG. As for NIN left side... Maybe a twinblade user like Zidane from FF9.

    I'll go one better. For the Eden Gate raid series, Ninja shared its set design with Casters while Striking and Healing were identical. The dev team doesn't give a hoot about aesthetic consistency.

    Ninja should be converted back into a STR job and paired off with the Striking set. If they don't want to do back to back Maiming DPS, move Samurai over. Either way, it's ridiculous how melee players can't gear within their own role the way every other role can.

    If SE gets rid of classes at some point I would love to see Rogue separated from Ninja.

    Rogue is basically thief and there are a lot of loyal fans for the thief job. Ninja and thief have almost always coexisted.

    They could even share gear

    How about a Hunter ? Like Ninja it would duel wield but with 2 different weapons like a physical and a ranged weapon instead of daggers and mudra rotation !! I figure that by level 100 that it could have a different weaponskill rotation for each weapon and depending on where you are in the combo with each weapon you can set up or do different actions or combos . A hunter would thematically fit with a speedy/duel wielding/dexterous /hybrid melee range job and it could use an ability like Sneak Attack to coincide with ninjas trick attack . Plus if we go to undiscovered unruly regions in the source after EW where magic isn't a thing where people hunt each other for bounty it could totally work but that's my hot take on the subject lol

    The theme of the Edengate/Edengrace gear was "angelic" which doesn't really suit casters nor ninjas. Also they design gear sets to share components and then distribute those components among the gear sets. Look at all of the 5.X Tomestone/Raid Scouting gear:
    • Deepshadow - Head shared with Healers/Casters, Unique model body that is a lighter variation of Striking, Feet, Legs and Hands shared with Striking
    • Edengate/grace - White version of the Casting gear
    • Crystarium - Unique Head, Hands shared with Striking/Aiming, Body, Legs and Feet shared with Aiming
    • Edencall/choir - Head shared with Striking (with an eye-patch over Healing), Body shared with Maiming, Hands shared with Striking and Maiming, Legs shared with Fending and Maiming, Feet shared with Striking.
    • Cryptlurker - Head shared with Striking and Casting, Body, Legs and feet shared with Striking and Aiming, Hands shared with Striking
    • Edenmete/morn - Shared with Striking.

    Ninja actually gains a lot out of the devs ability to recombine sets that would be lost by just making them wear Aiming sets.

    Don’t care for the idea of getting rid of scouting and consolidating it into other sets, add another job (preferably new) and put it in scouting. Then they could get their own accessories as well.

    Something like operative/agent/outrider, doesn’t have to be a recycled job from past iterations, use that creativity and give us something new,
