Showing up is part of it, obviously; can't do anything if you're not there. Then playing as well as you can is the rest of it.

If I don't need pencils or books to do what I need in class then I probably won't bring them. I certainly don't need essences in DRN.


Who said I don't have the time? I have plenty of time, I just don't want to use it farming essences for no real reason.

It's also not about getting carried. I don't expect anyone else in DF to use essences either, and I'm not bothered when they don't.

Just be honest you are fine with 45 min run cool, but I bet you are also cool with shorter runs. Just admit you do not mind other picking up your slack aka being carried. I can respect that, I just wish people were honest about it.

I also hate this content but I farmed out essences so I could join the full essences runs in PF to get out that hell hole sooner.

Let us be real sure it may not be your intent to be carried and in the grand scheme you do not care I get that and I can respect that. Though intent be damned if your group is using essences and you are not let us be they carried you to that quicker clear time.

lol, fair enough. It is a little confusing when people jump into the middle of conversations and just blurt out something random in response to a post made days ago, and don't bother quoting what they're actually responding to.

As for everyone, bring-your-essences. Don't be the guy asking for a pen, a sheet of paper or a book. Don't be the one not working on group projects.
If you die at the first AoE, you'll be as usefull as a carpet no matter if you make act of presence or press your buttons.

No worries. Either way as someone that hates this content also spending a couple days to farm out essences and then just blazing through them with PF was a life saver. I am already done.

Do not suffer through the content any longer then need be. Since normally after a PF run if you do well people ask you to come back so you no longer have to wait for groups.

It's more a matter of context. If you don't quote who you're talking to then people might not know who you're talking to. It's more likely to cause a misunderstanding, which is all this was.

This little school analogy is a bad one, though. People who don't have essences aren't borrowing them from the people who do because they can't participate without them. I don't think a lot of you actually understand the logistics of how essences work, which may be what's causing some of your hurt feelings towards people who don't use them.

PF is a little too rigid, and I'm guessing if you're not on during peak hours it's difficult to find a DR speed run. I tend to prefer runs that are guaranteed at any hour, even if they take longer.

DR isn't bad, though, so I don't necessarily feel like I need to get through it as fast as possible. I wish it was just a standard Alliance Raid, though, and not tied to Bozja. I wish the whole Relic wasn't tied to Bozja.

I'm only like mettle level 4 and spent all of maybe an hour or so in Bozja but assuming I ever care to partake in said content I'd 100% use essences because I have integrity.
