I think I'd be more surprised if we didn't see Mikoto in 6.0 considering that Sharlayan is her homeland and she's one of the few people from there we know other then Krile who'd likely oppose the Forum's stance of non-interference, plus her sister was noted as having a more open disdain for Sharlayan's policies so she might show up as well.

I'd assume there's probably going to be a small faction of pro-interference Sharlayans who are actually willing to help us in some manner.

There are some I expect and want to see retire for some reason or another, and some I don't.
    • Alphinaud, to me, time to go. He's been a pretty heavy presence in most of the stories from ARR to ShB and I am honestly tired of him. Like even when everyone else was absent.. he wasn't.
    • Alisaie, I like her enough to want her to stick around, I feel she has more reason to as well. Alphinaud has plenty of other responsibilities he can take up, particularly regarding leadership. Alisaie is a hothead and a front line fighter, definitely someone to keep around (to me). She also got featured considerably less than Alphinaud has been.
    • Urianger, meh, never was much of a fan and he's always been semi-present semi-background, he can fade into the background again imo.
    • Thancred, he deserves retirement with all he's been through. Be it in the Source, or in the unlikely event that travel to the First is figured out, on the First. I wouldn't mind him sticking around though.
    • Lyse, please for the love of god never come back.
    • G'raha, meh, not a fan. I liked him well enough in ShB, the tie back to CT was very nice, but I'm really not a fan of him as a permanent addition to the Scion roster. Did we really need another Miqo'te? I especially don't like the idea of him being a potential replacement for Y'shtola.
    • Y'shtola, nope. I do not want her to go anywhere. I'd be fine with all of the others going as long as she stays.

I'll refrain from mentioning someone like Estinien too much, he only just joined, he's not likely to leave again at the end of EW. Same with G'raha unfortunately.

What would I like to have? Yugiri, without a doubt. I always found it extremely annoying that we effectively lost her as a potential new addition to the Scions at the end of SB. She should have stayed with the Scions and hell, joined for the journey to the First. Admittedly, this is my bias speaking because I do consider her one of my most favorite characters in the game.

Going forward, be it with Scions remaining the mainstay allies of the WoL or not I'd prefer a bit more variety. We've had a pretty heavy Hyur, Elezen and to a lesser extent, Miqo'te presence in the scions. I'd like something else. Give me some Au Ra, by my preference a female one (again, Yugiri), a Hrothgar, a Viera. Let's give perhaps Tataru or Krile some more screen time as well to add some Lalafell. If you want to go a bit more out there, perhaps go for a Scion not of a playable race, like perhaps an Amalj'aa of the Brotherhood of Ash? Or perhaps a Sylph?

My dream team would be: alphinaud, thancred, lyse, Gaius, estinien, Krile, and tataru. But alas, we know it would never happen.

I think the safest way they can go, is to leave all the scions and introduce brand new set of characters. Especially if it's true that 7.0 onwards they want to have a more self contained story.

Mayhaps in the end of EW they will pull the "thank you for helping us WoL, now that primal threat is no more, let's disband the scions" and then everyone will go in their own separate ways and we do the same. We will continue exploring to new world/meracydia/etc. (though we can still visit the our scions friends), meet new people, basically become an adventurer again. If they want, they still can have some of the scions show up once in a while.

I don't want a whole new team, but I would like a partially new team.

Y'shtola - her health should have suffered tremendously from burning her aether to see, not too mention her two trips through the Lifestream. Doesn't necessarily need to die, though I would prefer it(and she is my starter scion, the character I've known the longest). A nice retirement with a jury rigged one way trip back the First to spend her last years eating Runar's hearty stew works too.

Alphinaud - I agree with the sentiment that he could be being setup to take over the lead of Old Sharlayan. He's been by us a long, long time. The game though, has stated repeatedly that his strengths lie in delegation and politics. I think that would be a fitting place for him to stay.

Alisaie - I'd like for her to continue traveling with the WoL. Though I can't help but feel she would be compelled to stay and assist Alphinaud. But I'd like her to stay, continue on her promise made at the end of Coil.

Urianger - I'd like him to stay. Doesn't have to be frontline, but as a delegator at the Rising Stones would work well for me.

Thancred - He should honestly probably retire. He basically has to have someone make his ammo, and I'm pretty sure that the other Scions have been teleporting him with traditional teleportation spells. Though I could see him becoming work obsessed like he was said to be in ARR and working till the day he dies... I'd also like for him to go retire on The First, and be close to Ryne as a mentor and confidant again.

For replacements I'd like for us to snag some "leaders" back out of their places, since their style of government doesn't really demand that they be the leaders. People like Aymneric and Lyse. Hien I do want, but he's a king so... :/

    • Alphinaud: Honestly, I think his story concludes with Endwalker. He's grown as a character and done what he set out to do. He's been our closest companion, but I think its time he head off on his own for his own adventure.
    • Alisaie: I'm a bit conflicted on Alisaie. She hasn't really had as much spotlight time as Alphinaud, but at the same time I feel like she would be compelled to stay with her brother. If he goes, she probably will as well and I'm okay with that.
    • Urianger: He was never really a main character until I think Stormblood and probably has the most he could still do by sticking around. I would miss him, but wouldn't be too sad if he left.
    • Thancred: Let's be honest, his story ended with Shadowbringers. I'll be surprised if he survives Endwalker. I don't dislike him, but I wouldn't miss him if he goes. He spends too much time stealing the WoL's thunder anyway.
    • Lyse: Was never a fan of her to begin with, plus her story ended in Stormblood. I doubt we'll see her again in any major capacity.
    • G'raha: I don't like him. He was fine as a supporting character for a singular purpose, but trying to shoehorn him into the Scions like they did left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus, he really comes off as just an attempted replacement for another character...and I am NOT okay with that. He's also not even that interesting of a character.
    • Y'shtola: I will NEVER forgive Yoshi if Y'shtola is taken from us. EVER.
    • Estinien: Am I the only one who doesn't like Estinien? Sure, he's a badass, but he's boring. I tend to grown every time he shows up because he perpetually upstages everyone else for no good reason that I can see. I don't know what will happen with him. He doesn't have the personality to work as a team player for the long term, but he just showed up, so he'll probably be around for awhile.

I disliked him when I did the original Dragoon job quests. But HW really really made me like him a lot. To the point where I never find his appearance to be disappointing. I'm quite glad for his addition even if I groan at another Elezen added to the roster.

He was fine during HW, but like G'raha he was great as a supporting character for a singular purpose. His purpose and position doesn't matter now that the Dragonsong war is over. Trying to shoehorn him in again and again is obnoxious. And like Thancred, he suffers from main character syndrom.

Urg. Sure. Let's have new characters with new boring stuff like ARR or Stormblood.

I prefer the Scions over that anytime...

Hildibrands mom can be tank, cause she's basically warrior.
Godbert can be dps that does melee LB.
Hildibrand can be healer i guess.
