And Hien - he can leave the governing to someone else.I'd like to see a completely new cast, personally. By all means, we can check in with the existing characters from time to time but I didn't like how Shadowbringers introduced us to a new world but had the bulk of the story still revolve around the Scions.
Overfamiliarity can often breed contempt and...I doubt the Final Fantasy games as a whole would be popular if they each followed the same cast over and over again. It's time for something fresh, I think!
Oh - and we should get a male Raen or Xaela to travel with.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I agree completely. Even Y'shtola and Urianger, characters I've loved since I started ARR, started to grind on my nerves a bit (Urianger, WHY YOU KEEP LYING TO ME, BRUH?!?).I'd like to see a completely new cast, personally. As others have said, I still want to check in with the Scions from time to time -- I definitely hope they all get a pleasant send-off of sorts -- but definitely grew a bit weary of seeing TOO many familiar faces in Shadowbringers.
With the exception of Tataru. As far as I'm concerned, she's the best character in the game, and you can fight me if you think different!
A male Raen or Xaela sounds really great! Considering we’ve rarely had one be a part of a story. Personally i’ve been tired of the scions for awhile and i’m really hoping EW is the last time we have them as the main cast. I’d love to have them introduce and entirely new cast of characters instead of keep reusing the old ones who just continue the same plot points over and over (cough Yshtola, cough Graha)I'd like to see a completely new cast, personally. I think we're likely going to get a new team, but keep a few old faces as well. I could see Graha and Alisaie staying, and probably pick up a few of the underused Scions for our adventures. Personally I'd like a few former job questline characters there for some hilarity and unexpected events. Example, Karasu from the NIN questline would make an interesting character to go on adventures with due to his trickster nature.

If anything I wager it'll be the WoL trying to help rebuild Garlemald with the help of Old Sharlayan after we basically oust the council after we discover they're somehow connected with the Ascians.
I do hope that we get some completely new people while still seeing the old cast from time to time. (Maybe some nice little side quests or we might simply need their help)

I'd like to see more of the "B-Team": Riol, Coultenet, Hoary and Ocher Boulder, etc. They do a lot of important stuff just off-screen.

Wouldn't mind a new cast after this arcs done. But I'll definitely miss y'shtola.
Whatever it will be, I hope they don't make g'raha goes with us on the next adventure. I really can't stand that creep. Make him stay near CT or go on an adventure by himself, idc. And perhaps make y'sthola retire to the First too. The game's face or not, she's so boring and doesn't really bring anything to the story.
About time i’d say...**Spoiler for Stormblood and 5.55 MSQ below**
I get this feeling we're going to lose the twins at the end of 6.0... Not to death or anything, but I think they might break away from being Scions like Lyse did at the end of Stormblood to stay in Old Sharlayan. Or perhaps only Alphinaud so he can work with the Alliance full time with regards to the Grand Company of Eorzea.
Just my two cents.
