I've been playing mmos all my life and the one I stuck with next to ffxiv was Blade and soul, I've played that competitively. That game was toxic from the get-go as is the norm with p2w games but once they added ingame parses everything became 10 times worse, as a new player it is absolutely impossible to do anything in the game. Everything is locked behind parsing numbers and if you did below a certain threshold people will not even look at you.

My little brother joined the game recently and is still a newbie, already received snarky remarks from various dungeon runs which he shrugged off, imagine the sheer amount of frustration and hostility if ingame parsing was allowed, you would not even be allowed to learn anything, it's either you reach this number or you suck. Just because some people on here think they have enough human decency to not be total douchebags, there are many in the game who don't shy away from being very unpleasant. I want new players to have a nice experience, we don't need systems that feed into toxicity. Ingame parses will ultimately harm the playerbase more than it will do any good. No matter how much people complain about it, at its core we have more casuals.

Does B&S actively ban players like FFXIV though?

Right now it isn't hard for a player to find another's parses via a certain website. Unless players explicitly hide them, it's already generally available for everyone to see. Someone using a particular program already knows who is actively under performing in-game as well. If it ever was made available in FFXIV, I don't see much changing aside from a player's perception of themselves, rather than harassment from others. Some would probably feel like the game itself was judging them.
