Toga Parties at the Sharlayan wards.
That door swings both ways. There's monetary incentive in giving more players access to content so they'll have more to do. Why do players unsub? Because they run out of things they want to do. The more they have to do, the longer they stay subbed.Since there is a perceived rarity in housing. Those who have houses will not leave the game as easy and instead continue to pay the monthly fee. So there is a monetary incentive to keep the things they way they are. If housing was instancing, there would be no loosing the house you camped a lot for if you leave the game for a while. Meanwhile those who want the house stay to find a house. The game is also a bit mischievous in giving rewards that can only be used in housing.
As it stands right now, someone with a house can be unsubbed for about 60% of the year and not lose the house. Sub for 30 days. That's more than enough time to do all the new content in a patch. Unsub for 44 days. Return to sub for another 30 days. Enough time to do whatever content was released while you were gone. Unsub for 44 days. There's no risk involved unless the 44th day is the start of a 24 hour maintenance (easily avoided - return after 43 days instead).
What I'll never understand is why people continue to waste money paying a subscription for a game they don't want to be playing just to maintain possession of an item they aren't using. Walking into a house to reset the demo timer once every 6 weeks isn't using it.

I have a friend who does just that. Hasn't played in years but logs in once every 45 days to keep his house. I really don't understand why.
I would be happy with apartments at Crystarium in Pendants. Make them similar in design to the inn room there which would be amazing.

Future housing area will be inside the moon.
Let's go!
I'd like to see:
- Allagan themed housing.
- Garlean themed housing.
- Sharlayan themed housing.
- Amaurot themed housing.
- Eulmore themed housing.
- Dalmascan themed housing.
I feel like any game that doesn't implement player housing on the scale of Wildstar is just wasting its potential. Keep the wards and neighborhoods for the folks that want to maintain their status symbols. But add full lot sized housing options for people who just wanna build and decorate. Everyone wins! The housing issue can be solved by instancing housing. A lot of people, including myself, do not care if someone else can or not see the house. If they can make apartments, they can make instanced housing. Is not a technical problem. Is a will problem. Just make bigger apartments in which one can plant things and not a shoe box in which people cannot plant things. Is funny that Inn rooms are bigger than apartments in this game.
should just give us an airship to live on in the sea of clouds instead of a housing ward.

think they should consider moving all housing areas into one area only, and by that making a better way to get along with your neighbors and such... instead of spreading it out.... Hype for Ishgaard Hype for Shirogane... and whatever else.
As much as I love Ishgard, I won't like, I just want a small plot in Gridania.
