Future housing areas?

Ishgard is beautiful and I cant wait to get a place there, but I do hope they add more housing areas eventually, at first when I heard they were going to be making a heavensward style housing area I thought it would be like sea of clouds (houses in the sky) and not gonna lie I still think that would be amazing.

Do you think they will add more housing zones like that? Based on the length of time it took for Ishgard to be implemented at all its hard for me to tell if its really hard for them to make whole new zones and that's why, or if it was kind of a buildup thing. Anyways, what are the chances well get more zones? If they did add more areas what kind would you like to see?

If there's enough demand for them, I don't see why they wouldn't. They'll probably wait and see if Ishgard housing solves the housing issue first though, so I'm not holding my breath for any housing area in Endwalkers. If anything, we'd probably get more wards.

It's impossible to say what the chances really are, though. The smarter choice from a developer perspective would be to add more servers and DCs, which would compensate for upcoming growth of playerbase and help mitigate the housing issue.

Anyway, the only housing zone I'd really wanna see is large apartments. I'm pretty satisfied with the current districts that we have and can't think of any other city, except maybe the upcoming Radz-at-han, where there could be a player housing district.

Hard to say but we'll have 4 areas with EW. A more likely scenario would be added new wards rather than new areas.

clearly the best housing ward would be on the first in the crystarium you'll have very few neighbors seeing how most the world is dead...

Oh no, sea of clouds housing would be BEATUFIUL with all the fauna. Why did you give me such dreams?

i think if we get new housing wards they'll be in the new regions somewhere on the moon. Can't wait for them to show us what some of the zones are going to look like. As it is we didn't get any new housing in any of the Shadowbringers areas and some of them are simply beautiful.

The devs have acknowledged our desire for Crystarium housing.
They were actually kind of taken aback by it because they were asked about it after Ishguardian housing was already in the works lol

The housing issue can be solved by instancing housing. A lot of people, including myself, do not care if someone else can or not see the house. If they can make apartments, they can make instanced housing. Is not a technical problem. Is a will problem. Just make bigger apartments in which one can plant things and not a shoe box in which people cannot plant things. Is funny that Inn rooms are bigger than apartments in this game.


Since there is a perceived rarity in housing. Those who have houses will not leave the game as easy and instead continue to pay the monthly fee. So there is a monetary incentive to keep the things they way they are. If housing was instancing, there would be no loosing the house you camped a lot for if you leave the game for a while. Meanwhile those who want the house stay to find a house. The game is also a bit mischievous in giving rewards that can only be used in housing.
