Yoshi: Yes, we have decided we aren’t going to introduce any more races when we introduced the 2 new races in ShB. Of course I would love to have more races in-game but this is pushing the system and forces it to calculate and deal with more assets. With that said, players from all over the world have been asking for more beast-like races similar to that of Miqo'te .

I cannot stress how hard it is to put 2 races in one expansion, when I consulted with the graphic design team they said “I will give it a try if Yoshida san really wants to do this but it is not realistic to do 2 races at the same time." As we begin to look at what races to create, we noticed there is an overwhelming amount of FFXII lovers asking the question “can this really not be done?”. A huge amount of players had made fan art based on the female version of Vieira and we kind of draw inspiration from their works.

We really wanted to add female Hrothgar at the same time, but ultimately had to push male Viera out first with the promise of Hrothgar coming later.

So it looks like the way they went about it in Shadowbringers was too much for them (and it shows) and female Hrothgar might not be coming out this expansion.

Which could mean they finally have some time for the rest of us? Maybe? Perhaps? Possibly? Please?

By "two races at once is too much" they likely meant "two races with both sexes", meaning four character models. Female Viera and male Hrothgar together count as one "race" in development terms, and now male Viera and female Hrothgar are one "race".

Definitely possible, but "coming later" doesn't sound as optimistic as it used to anymore.

Hey, if they have them ready by the benchmark that's fantastic.

But if they're not coming this expansion I just hope they put some of that time towards some of the things that were also supposed to be coming later, or in future patches.

I'll be glad if they take their time with female hrothgar. Not only would that give them more time to work on viera hairs, the hairs we were definitely going to get, it may also give them the time they need to not rush out another beast race that has to fantasia to change their hair.. their one other hair..
