    Why did you bring up mount rewards in WoW then? Was it not to point out an incentive that is basically just a "fear of missing out", which is why people stay subbed for their houses too?
    They're the same thing, except missing a mount isn't going to potentially lock you out of content.

    Because, as I stated, this was the chosen solution for the housing scarcity. The 6-month mount is not a solution to a problem. It's an actual incentive.

    How is housing not an incentive? Being a solution to something and an incentive aren't mutually exclusive things.

    You're right, but one has a purpose other than to keep people subscribing. So until the housing scarcity is solved and we see that FFXIV is still using it to keep you subscribe, those are different situations.
