Different games do things in different ways.

I'm assuming you've already collected everything and anything in-game then? Gotten every achievement, explored everywhere, have every orchestrion scroll possible?

I had fun with the new toys, pets, glamours in WoW. There wasn't any particular 'excitement' to getting most of them, especially "the world is alive" excitement. Just a collecting grind, same as in most MMOs.

If you want to see what you're missing (without the WoWhead "step by step") try these:

I'm talking about OpenWorld content. And if I have all the rare Fates achievements in the game even in due course I organize groups to get things like Ishgard's Barding that only drop in a chain fate in Churning Mists.

In Wow while level up in Shadowlands I got two mounts doing things in the world, one included a rare drop that had to be used in a specific place with 1 hour duration. In Pandaria I obtained all the weapons of the Klaxxi that were hidden throughout the continent. (I have the achievement of all the treasures of the game)

I've been feeling this lately. Probably the biggest reason the game is feeling old now and lacking immersion is the small maps separated by loading screens. We don't have PS3 limitations any more but I guess the game engine is still limited. I wish we could transplant the good content of this game into a massive world with seamless zoning.

PSO2 is taking a practical approach where the old content is left as it was, while the new content starting from June is taking place in a new world and new game engine with seamless transitions, doesn't even need a loading screen when transitioning between the field and city.

Very nice to see one huge continuous world without break points. You can see into different zones from each other, and when you travel across zone lines it just loads in the players in that part of the map without interrupting your experience. I'd love to see the future of FF Online with a modern engine like that.

Considering 1.0 had this, I'm optimistic their next MMO will too.
If I were really optimistic I'd hazard we could see this in new areas in future expacs, but I'm not that daring lol.
