What? The response to Shadowbringers has been extremely positive—I'm really not sure what we're talking about in this thread. This really seems to be inflating relatively rare criticism (from a tiny, self-selecting sliver of the player base on the forum) into some tsunami of hostility that doesn't actually exist.

Go look at the WoW forums/Reddit—that is a hostile response.

You seem to be missing my point, Hardcore players defending wanting more high end content, feeling as if casuals are being favored, and the same happens in return to casuals feeling that hardcore players are elitist and at times they're favored. This has happened several times this expansion, with casuals losing multiple dungeons, and again with hardcore players losing an ultimate.

But my main point is that the dev team is suffering and wants to do more, but cannot, the focus is not solely on the sides of the community, and I'm a WoW player currently so I'm well aware of how they react.

Because when people talk about FFXIV they only know how to talk about the history because when talking about the contents of the expansions they have no absolute idea, why do you think that when people talk about Heavensward they never mention the Diadem fiasco? Because people don't know.

I was actually around for Original Diadem, I never got my drops from there, the idea seemed neat tho
