Not really. This game has a monthly subscription, we should be expecting a constant flow of content. We are paying for it. I don't get how that's "spoiled".

This expansion was the best expansion of all of them. What are you even going on about?
It's not though. It doesn't reach the pure gameplay high of Stormblood, or Heavensward for that matter. Sure it's got a shiny, well constructed narrative, but it's also a downgrade in many areas.
We literally have about the same content schedule we've had for many years, with hardly any changes (1 dungeon less and a few small cuts because of covid? so what). Even before FF16 was a thing, we had about this much content every 2 years.
You've never watched the credits have you? They last like an hour listing all the people that work on the game. They have obviously been hiring expansion on expansion and outsource a huge amount of development as well.

This expansion did see several cuts, and thats still worth criticizing, which every consumer has a right to do. One of the main issues with FFXIV is the lack of it as it stands, no company or game is infallable, and no company or game should be held above it.We literally have about the same content schedule we've had for many years, with hardly any changes (1 dungeon less and a few small cuts because of covid? so what). And the credits mean nothing, they had a large team work on the 5.0 patch story and content, which was then reduced to a smaller team to work on the fureture patches.
You mean story wise, gameplay wise is the worst by miles even if there wasnt any "perfect" expansion gameplay wise.
The story is good, but wont keep you subbed for long unlike a good gameplay
SHB has been praised by his story and his smooth release wich was the best by far on the history of the game but outside of that the game has been accumulating critics non stop.
The combat system simplification specially for healers and tanks SHB has been a poor expansion in terms of gameplay experience for them + a lack of combat content from casual to hardcore stuff with less dungeons, no deep duengeon, lack of pvp and just 1 ultimate we recive way less compared to other expansions.
Viera and roghtgar has suffer tons of crittics not only for his limited implementation but specially for the total lack of updates through the expansion patchs and in the end we didn't get anything that excuse the cuts they have been doing, so is not a joke when ppl has been calling this expansion Casualbringers, Budgetbringers, Crafterbingers ect ect ect, and covid just make everything more odvious by delaying everything 2 months.
From my perspective SHB promise much and fails in the process, smooth launch, acceptable story for me but outside of that has been a downhill in terms of gameplay experience and content delivery, i hope they learned and do better on Endwalker and its Devs doing and SE.
A lot of people confuse initial praise with a game keeping you subbed for more then the first few months, which FF did up until Shadowbringers imo. The simplification also did nothing and healers still aren't happy with it. I for one miss the tank gameplay loop not revolving around dps.
I find that on average, some form of content is released every month to engage with. A beast tribe to gradually get through? An extreme trial to farm? Ocean fishing to farm? Firmament restoration? A relic to grind? Every month there has been something like this to grind out over a month, it's just that you have to be interested in all types of content to feel satisfied by it.
The expansion as a whole is cinematic, its pretty, very very pretty, but it lacks so much of the depth that we had prior. And its sad because a lot of people may not even feel or notice the changes made and why it feels bad or off, or wonky, why DRKs gameplay loops feels so similar to WARs or why BRD feels so dead and ruined. These are the things that keep people, especially since the story is only every 3 months.SHB has been praised by his story and his smooth release wich was the best by far on the history of the game but outside of that the game has been accumulating critics non stop.
