The FFXI, FFXIII, and FFXV events were all temporary and have no mark at all in the game.

It would take some mental gymnastics to explain that the trashed dwarf town and giant space station that you can see from Kholusia don't exist. Judging by the weekly quests, we're going to see more NieR stuff out in the open world soon as well.
Oh no please no more of this shit.... They already ruined the "Alliance raid" slot with a collab, i'd prefer not seeing spillover more than necessary...
Just to be clear about how I see things (copypaste from a previous message I did) :
I may be wrong to think like that, but I consider Alliance Raids as "part of main content" (aka part of expected content in any expansion, and FF universe related) and collaboration as "entirely side content" (be it anything).
I was rather "ok-ish" with the introduction of the MH Trial because it is side content (did they have to cut main content to add this trial ? i'm not sure, so i'd be happy to hear more about it).
MH story-wise was... meh, but that was to be expected (all collabs feel disjointed, or maybe that's just me)
As far as i'm aware, FFXIV is kind of a "Theme Park" reuniting all Final Fantasy games, more or less.
To me, collabs are just collabs, they shouldn't replace main content. Ever.

And I disagree with the "This is canon because story and impact in the world" statement. Why ? Because this would then, by default, put anything lasting in the game as canon, wherever that content comes from. So yeah cool, let's just do a Mario Collab / Horizon Collab replacing main content and weave a story around and tadaaaaaaa ! that's canon!

*sigh* fml....
