Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I love the flowers in the viera hairstyles. It would be nice to have a toggle for the people who want to remove them though. I would like to change the colors of the flowers, but I’m glad they went with white because it matches most things. Being from the forest doesn’t mean Viera can’t like flowers. The majority of Viera I see have flowers and bow accessories. People could choose to not use anything at all, but they don’t. I know there aren’t a lot of options, but players choose flowers quite a bit.

My problem with the flowers is that they are reused assets from the hairstyle you unlock from Orbonne Monastery just slapped on. There's nothing inherently bad with them, but look more like a Claire's accessory more than a freshly picked from the forest floor flower.

They are working on them. That's why you see new headgear, etc. that's wearable pop-up. Albeit it is nothing but a slow trickle of updates or work of the matter but it is something. With Covid-19 being a problem and delaying them 3 months altogether on production and the tight schedule they follow for content patches/updates and expansions - something like this would be on the back burner.

Hopefully the "FanFest" in May will shine some light on the matter.

I'm low-key hoping for even a mention of the hair/helmets dilemma for Hroth/Viera, but I'm not really gonna hold my breath about it, to be quite honest.

As for them making new headgear pieces being visible on Hroth/Viera, I have to just take a gander at the big disparity of the Bergsteiger/Dirndl's attire sets in the Mogstation to know where the small amount of hat support is going to. Not saying it's bad that only Viera are getting said support - I think it's wonderful they finally got a new hat to wear - but the fact they didn't even bother with Hroth at all just...

The funny thing is that there are plenty of hats that sit on the side of the head that don't work for either, but have hats in game in the same place that work just fine. The Eastern Socialite's hat is one of my favourites, sits in the same place as the Dirndl's hat, and yet only the latter works.

That's exactly what I thought, when I first saw them on my viera. They just didn't look right.

Indeed! I would have also thought alternate versions of headpieces only showing parts of the assets that don't clip. Facial covers sans the top piece, in the cryptlurker sets for example. Retroactively editing all pre-ShB sets would have been a task, but everything after it? Seems like a missed opportunity to placate a lot of people.

Yup, some nice faceveils for instance couldve worked (and has been asked for before). Other type of makeup.

I could see them just unlocking the hempen sets before we get our own, tbh. I doubt they are going to change the hempen set we currently have to look like something else entirely, even if I personally wish they would because midlander hempen top is my least favorite. I was actually super disappointed as trying on the hempen set was one of the first things I did after using a fantasia and it was like....you serious?

Though I suppose they could always give us another set of racial gear.

I dont think vieras will get more racial gear, but yeah unlocking the hempen sets would be great (although I think I read somewhere that they will never do that). I wouldve loved the highlander one.

Went back to Au Ra again for now and for someone who loves glamours it was like a new world opened with just the ability to pick out new hairstyles. Suddenly I had 10 different hairstyles to pick from if I wanted a certain style (classy or warrior or modern or cute) where as Viera I have like....one classy hairstyle, one modern, one warriorlike and so on....... Suddenly the game became more fun again. Im not enjoying being tiny again (even though I absolutely love my Au Ra) but damn the difference it makes for me in regards of enjoyment when I suddenly have so many options. I got inspired.

I don't think they even do racial gear anymore. The starting Viera/hrothgar gear were probably just made, because they had to; promoting the races really. I don't see them doing anything exclusive like that, aside from hair... whenever they get around to it...
