You wouldn't be able to flip a house if the buyer had to wait 24hrs just like everyone else.

Biggest con is that 100 people is an optimistical number and it might get too crowded for Console Players. But at least it's quick and you're not stuck in front of a Placard hurting your hand.
Aside from strain on the server, a known time also means less cost for organized flippers. Instead of having X number of workers clicking placard for unknown hours (a time which could be instead used for other gil-making activities), they just need to have the workers at the placard for a couple minutes for a chance to purchase an FC house to sell.

... By that measure, everything in the game should be a horrible mess of a system, only so people couldn't exploit it. Everything, every last bit of possible game interaction from killing a monster in the overworld to Delubrum Reginae. Less work to get a house, by any measurement and in any way, would mean that whoever has an interest in flipping a house will work less to get it because the idea is to make, again, less work. To get a house. It shouldn't be this hard. To get a house. It's that simple.

This is absolutely no excuse not to improve a system. It shouldn't be that hard to get a house. You'd still be horribly affecting your ability to sell houses to someone if that person didn't already had a plot to relocate. That issue would still be exactly as solved as it is right now. It wouldn't make anything easier to try and SELL the house. It would just be easier to BUY a fresh plot.

It is not the system that is causing the problem. It is the supply.

Back in 2018, we still had the purchase timer. We still had relocation. Plot prices were the same as they are now. And yet buying a house was not a problem on any but a few congested worlds like Balmung for most of that year because there were plenty of houses available after the 4.2 ward expansion.

The active player base doubled in 2019. Housing did not. The supply became inadequate for the increased demand.

We can makes changes to the system but we won't see any improvement unless the supply also increases to meet demand.

10 hours? That's cute. I spent 18+ hours for my fc house.

Very true. I understand the reason and need of a timer. But I would want it being visible. At least give people a better chance and not getting fatigued

Would you be less fatigued? Yes.

Would you have better chance? No.

Your chances would be far worse as more players show up to be ready to click the placard at that designated moment. A lot of players want a house but don't bother camping because they'd rather spend those hours doing other things. Reduce the time commitment to 10 minutes and they will start showing up in large numbers.

I understand the need for the timer, but I wish it'd be shorter like an hour, maybe two. Then you know you have a time commitment, but also a reasonable expectation that someone will win in the near future, and win or loss, you can move on and try again, or do something else.

It is true that more people will show up to get the house, but you're also not wasting all that time. You can move onto another open plot, if there is one.

This should be more than enough reason to change things. Having a quick try and loss is much better than hurting your hand clicking the same Placard almost an entire day (That is, if they aren't using an auto-ckicker, which happens more often than not.)

The meta game at that time shifts from attempting the fastest click on every possible second the timer can pop, to macro managing multiple timers on multiple plots to show up on the correct time to have a clickoff at the last possible second.

Supply won't increase, they can't increase it. Even throwing more wards would just delay the problem until the next threshold. So at the very least, if you're not gonna double or tripple the number of wards on every system to meet the demmand, improve the method by which we acquire the houses that are being vacated by the auto-demolisher.

It'd also work just fine if they simply gave some sort of indication of when the plot would become available for purchase, such as the color of the plot. Deep red for greater than 12 hours, green for less than three. This would give time for people to learn a plot was open while also letting them know they don't have to skip a day of life clicking a placard if they see a red plot.

Yes, I am willing to consider job offers in an SE theoretical trouble shooting position.
