Buying a house small

Please remove this time that we do not know for the purchase of homes. I've spent more than 10 hours in front of one on Saturday. On Sunday I stayed more than 8 hours, and yesterday I was alone in front of one for another 11 hours and nothing. I went out to do duty and they had bought it.

If they remove the random, invisible timer, we're back to house flipping - aka, people agreeing to relinquish their house for a given amount of gil so the person paying can snatch it right up, thus giving people an incentive to buy houses they dont actually want (except for selling them later).

Is it an ideal solution? Nope.
Does it adress the main problem housing has? Nope.
Does it at least adress one problem housing used to have? Jep.

Got it... but I give up to buy a house... I cant stay more 7~10 hours at least for try to buy.... this game is so huge... I want buy a house... but a lot of side quests and jobs to up...

That's ok.
You don't need to sit there all day for days on end trying to get a house. It's unhealthy and each failure is so frustrating.
I heartily recommend looking for a little bit here and there between other things, or while waiting in que.
Either way, dont kill yourself especially with new Ishgard housing wards coming so soon (6.1).

It's sad that they don't review housing demands within any reasonable time period. There is definitely a deliberate (and I would almost say malicious) intent to make sure that at least part of the player population will never get a plot they want, because ever since before housing was released, Yoshida had emphasized on housing being a scarce content that will not be playable by everyone.

For some reason, in a game that caters to so wide an audience. They have to go and deliberately create the worst possible experience in housing.

I seriously doubt there's any kind of grand Square Enix based conspiracy. They hear the request for more wards and added a few during SHB but couldn't add more due to not being able to purchase more servers on account of the pandemic. I imagine they'll reevaluate if more wards are required once Ishgard housing is in during the Fall, which is at the earliest 5 months away.

Without the timer, those houses would have been sold before you were aware they had been available. At least with the timer you've got a small chance that it will be ready for purchase just after you know about the house. And even if you hadn't gone into a duty, you still may not have gotten that house as the other players would have still been there trying to buy.

I think most of us agree that SE could shorten the timer without returning any advantage to the house flippers. Having a 2-6 hour timer would be just as effective as the current one though it would mean more competition at the placard for those trying to buy since it would be a shorter wait time.

Don't give up. Just don't camp for several hours straight. Try joining one of the housing discords that track when the plots become available so you'll know when is the best time to actually start checking to see if a house is ready for purchase.

Fun fact, house flipping would die just as much if the timer wasn't random or hidden. Give it a 24hrs clear and shown timer and all you'd get is a frantic clicking war at the last second by roughly 100+ people. You wouldn't be able to flip a house if the buyer had to wait 24hrs just like everyone else.

Biggest con is that 100 people is an optimistical number and it might get too crowded for Console Players. But at least it's quick and you're not stuck in front of a Placard hurting your hand.
