I bought a house for my FC, but housing Savage was a nightmare!

I legit lol'd at this. Why? Because the FC I'm in had to pay $90 mil gil for our large back before the housing prices were reduced. So people and FCs now already have it easier to get a house in regards to gil (which is also far easier to obtain than it was back when housing costs were so much more). I don't think anyone in the FC fussed about that. We had to battle to get housing still - it happened during the great Christmas demo several years ago. It was demos happening (for the first time ever) on all worlds on Christmas day, not all servers went at the same time. And when houses popped on your server it was a literal race with others to secure a plot.

Also when I got my personal it was so super easy to get. I had my pick of houses. It was well before housing prices were reduced and when there were a ton of plots open on all the servers. It's much more difficult now to get a house than it was back then. I would LOVE if SE would open it up so anyone who wants a house - personal or FC - can have one. I'm not going to shake my fist and say "back in my day... and these whippersnappers just get a house so easy and at half the price I did".

Just putting this out there, finding a large for plot price is like spitting in the wind and trying to hit a building a mile down the road.

Most people who want a large that aren't in a dead server are being forced to buy them off of other people. For example, mine was 180m and I've never seen a large pop in Primal or Aether in the year almost that I've been around. All of the people I speak to on a daily basis that have larges have also bought them off of other people.

(Just a clarification before someone asks: I have not personally SEEN any but I have read in housing discords that a couple popped during the recent demo reinstatement that went down. The only issue is that the wilds were taken up within 1-2 minutes of being advertised. So, I should say: You need even more luck than camping a plot + a tank of a PC (particularly with load times) to beat out everyone to get a large at plot price in the blue moon that they do decide to pop wild).
