I'm hoping so, I enjoyed the primal remixes in Eden but I really don't want there to be a whole set of 'Lunar Primals' we have to deal with in EW. I hope it's just Bahamut and we take him out either in the dungeon or an instanced story fight at the end of 5.5.

Maybe if they took a scan while Zenos' had consumed Shinryu? .. just because we all ran from one bit of plot to the next, it could have been a month of tracking?I suppose it's possible but story wise where would they get Shinryu data from? I could see them having some data on Zenos sure but Zenos only had Shinryu for a short time, and then was promptly killed, not sure how this weapon project could have gotten any data from Zenos' brief time posessing Shinryu.

Do you think they stopped tracking him after he died? What if they scanned Elidibus skills too?
It's 'possible' but tracking via what method? Who was collecting data and how? Zenos so far as we know only merged with Shinryu briefly and then Shinryu died. Who would have been recording this? Who would have sent it? It seems more likely to me that the data of Zenos was probably just taken before the liberation of Ala Mhigo, perhaps even before Stormblood proper.

Zenos was still wearing his suit when he merged, and the data was being transmitted from there. Also "don't think too hard about it". There are plenty of times where the games tells the player to assume something just works. Also the previous Weapons referenced the being they oversoul into in their designs. Ruby's entire design references Nael's helmet, sapphire and emerald have Regula and Gaius helmet heads. Diamond on the other hand, besides having the third eye, has a more draconian looking face. Also Diamond's model render appears to be a retooled Shinryu skeleton. It's 'possible' but tracking via what method? Who was collecting data and how? Personally, I just think it's funny we're fighting the Diamond Weapon in the sky when in VII it's infamously slow and bound to the land.

It is kind of funny as well that Ruby and Emerald were end game super bosses, but Diamond was just something you fought briefly in the main story and then got shot by a cannon. Though I suppose one could argue that it may be more powerful than the others because we couldn't stop it and it took the giant cannon to actually take it out. Kind of like sapphire weapon which was never fought at all.

To be fair, Lunar Ifrit, Shiva, and Titan aren't very visually similar to FFXIV's versions and Asura hasn't even shown up yet as a regular Primal. Even within the canon, Lunar Bahamut has no relationship to the 'original' Bahamut primal, it's basically just a name Fandaniel picked out because it's Scary Dragon.

I chock that up to the devs going, "Didn't one of the weapons fly?"
"Yeah, we had them kill it in 2.0."
"Uhh... shi... Plan B!"
Of course, in FFXV Kingsglaive they have multiple and they are airlifted into Insomnia.
But given that the Garlean Empire in XIV makes floating cities more or less, for their warships... it's not surprising they made it fly!

When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore

To add onto this: FFXIV's Lunar Bahamut shares the same color palette as FFIV's Lunar Bahamut, and obviously used FFXIV's Bahamut Prime animation rig. But its model is remarkably different from both, with plantlike growths and polyps jutting out of its head and wings. This gives it a very alien appearance—something I expect would also be reflected in any other Lunar Eidolons if they make an appearance in 5.5-6.0.To be fair, Lunar Ifrit, Shiva, and Titan aren't very visually similar to FFXIV's versions and Asura hasn't even shown up yet as a regular Primal. I doubt we'll see Lunar Asura. Mostly because Queen Gunnhildr took a wild swing away from her Asura-esque mural artwork and into the horrifying territory of unwilling roboticization (seriously, that chair of hers is the stuff of nightmares). But Lunar Ifrit, Titan, Shiva, Ramuh, Odin, Leviathan, and possibly an FFXIV original in the form of Lunar Garuda could make appearances.
Personally, I'd most like to see Lunar Odin, since unlike the rest he didn't get an Eden remake.
