The level 60 RDM quest is literally impossible EVEN ON very easy. Please fix!

While I'd call it one of the more difficult level 60 job quests, it's by no means impossible.

A few tips for players from the future who are having problems with it and come across this thread:

Upgrade your gear to level 60 gear. Gear really does make a difference.

Use Vercure to heal yourself when your HP drops below 50%. You're not going to run out of mana for attacks.

Try to avoid standing next to Arya and never let her get between you and the boss. That way AoEs targeting you won't hit her and drop her HP even more.

There's one crystal formation in the encounter area that's quite a bit larger than the others. You can use that formation to interrupt the most annoying of the boss's special abilities (the column that stretches with you) by getting on the opposite side to block line of sight. You'll know it's interrupted because the ground indicator will disappear. It's only the large formation that will work for this, the smaller ones and the trees won't.

Thats why it was so hard and took you so long. You weren't geared for the Duty.
ALWAYS make sure your gear is up to date.

The enemy you fight pulls you to him and gives you a 4x vuln stack debuff which is completely unavoidable. before he is down to 70%, I have a 12x stack and instantly die in one hit. Those debuff stacks are completely unavoidable as he pulls you to him to attack EVEN from clear across the room.

The girl DOES NOT EVEN heal herself and my vercure even when used twice is super weak. She just badly tries to prioritize me. She dies = instant fail. She WILL NOT heal herself by ANY means and she is the MAIN target of the bad guy.

I cannot even get him down below 68% because of all these IMPOSSIBLE to avoid things

I failed 6 times in a row on very easy. That tells you that even on very easy, it is impossible.

Please fix this solo duty

No it is not, if you macroed ever skill you do.. then yes you will run into problems because it causes skill lag... I completed all caster quests here... I totally suck at playing any caster in this game, and I did it and got every single job to 80.

If you don't gear up, you will suffer, if you don't pay attention you will suffer, and maybe you should look into what you can do different than anything else as in 99.99% of all players who went RDM to 60+ passed this.

Ill be honest i struggled with it compared to whm and drk 60 quest rdm was alot harder with about same gear i had on others.. I manged it after 2 times.. But i have to agree from the ones i did that one was a bit more annoying.

My issue was a. She wasnt healing and always got in the aoe for soul snatch.. I didnt die she did then it was gg i was handling him fine all 3 times

Main problem was Arya kept dying. I ended up trying to spam vercure on her whenever she got low. This method failed four times until it worked. I had to bait AoEs away from her.

Ah, yes I remember that quest. What a royal pain the the butt!

The boss is no problemo for me but keeping the moronic NPC alive was such a struggle.
I ended up running like an idiot just hoping the voids would spawn away from her.

There is nothing I hate more in video games than NPCs with crap AI I need to protect. Reminds me of the dumb girl in Far Cry that always hopped in front of my rifle just when I was about to fire lol.

Oh how dare you, you cant expect ppl to gear up for anything, its just a nuisance for new players! xD

I still say we need an absolute min ilvl on everything... ppl dont learn the gentle way and cheat with an cheep ring - since they overlevel so fast nowadays its even easier to just tack on a 300+ ring on shire stuff and be good lol


But tbf, i hate that "keep NPC alive even if he wants desperately to die" BS as you cant even target em properly...
