It is always infinitely easier to blame a game or expect it to change for you, rather than admit it could be you while you change for it. Comments like "Git Gud" are unhelpful at face-value, but is often (surprisingly) the right answer in most of said threads.
If I learned anything back when I was a newcomer to FFXIV, it's that the game absolutely loves making it painfully obvious what it expects you to do - be it introductory mechanics or literal monologues in the middle of the screen screaming at you to DO THIS THING IF YOU WANT TO BEAT THE DUTY. I could be wrong, and I have no desire to play RDM to find out, but I hazard a guess that the NPC being mentioned in the thread is probably spewing dialogue along the lines of "Keep dem big bawls of fire off mah azz!" in big, bright, noticeable speech bubbles smack in the middle of the screen that a lot of people blot out of sight and mind while playing. I know I've done it plenty of times and probably failed once or twice for not reading things as a result, but you won't find me blaming the game for those cases. You won't fail many duty's in the game, but if you do, be sure to try and properly absorb it on repeat attempts. It's generally something simple being missed while you go through the 'dodge all the AoE' motions.
Got all but a few classes to 70-80 and their respective class-quests are the last thing that have challenged me in any capacity. As said, they are often made painfully obvious through dialogue or mechanics and the vast majority get grossly annihilated by the next tier of gear, which is easy to acquire as an omni-crafter (or someone who caps their tomes and knows where to buy the latest set during levelling milestones). Alas, the poster seems to have been wearing 50% level 50 and 50% Shire at the time, which is basically a big no-no, yet you see it alllllll the time in Duty Finder. I recall meeting a tank wearing various gear-slots at up to 100il lower than others and wondering why the mobs were stinging.
