Why is glamour the end-game?

'Constructive' in this context is very subjective. Maybe to you, you don't turn to glams till run out of things to push for, but other people may put the glams as a higher priority. Who are you or me to say that what they're doing is not 'constructive'?

I’m not sure you understand the meaning of the word “constructive”. It means “having or intended to have a useful or beneficial purpose”, or alternatively “helping to improve; promoting further development or advancement”.

It does not mean “something I like or enjoy doing” and also does not imply non constructive things are a waste of time.
