Doma Castle being not a proper town does make sense though given it was completely destroyed and is now just a flooded ruin (this is why we got the Doman Quarter as an instanced area to repair to compensate). Ala Mhigo on the other hand, is completely intact and actually took minimal damage during Rhalgr's Beacon (other than the front gate being somewhat damaged).
But yeah, Ala Mhigo needs to be opened up - the Ala Mhigan Quarter in the Lochs is just the slums and is entirelly unstatisfactory as a town (and the Royal Menegarie does not count). Please Yoshi! Please open up Ala Mhigo! (Maybe have it as 'Liberated Ala Mhigo' or something to differentiate it from the dungeon).
I'd love it if ala mhigo got a restoration thing like doma/ishgard that gave us access to more stuff, but sadly I don't think ala mhigo was ever as popular as those regions and I don't expect it to happen.Doma Castle being not a proper town does make sense though given it was completely destroyed and is now just a flooded ruin (this is why we got the Doman Quarter as an instanced area to repair to compensate). I really liked the concept of Doma Reconstruction and the scale and more interesting ideas of progression for Ishgard's. I hope they do that stuff again, although a super massive bias that the personal stage is not community driven lol. The idea was maybe they make the maximum progress community related but the 'actual' personal (such that if the server doesn't work together then you're not going to progress, but there are personal steps as well that ultimately determine what is visually shown / done in the story).
Ala Migho would be neat to see more of certainly.
I also have had a itch in the back of my mind to see a Sil'dih reconstruction saga, complete with even dungeon content to dive into the depths of the zombie filled city (thoughts of dante inferno like imagery- capture more of those tales of secret nature and corruption we had when Raubahn became all right, what sort of beasts lurk in a dead city... maybe even the dead have brought forth a dead primal). Final product being a luxurious water city or something.

What if instead of Ishgard Restoration they had us do a "Realm Restoration" project as each server. Every patch we would restore something on the source.

Technically we've had something to this effect since 2.0: Mor Dhona evolving over time, the rebuilding of Idyllshire, Beastmen tribe areas appearing/changing over time as you rank up, Doman Enclave, and now Ishgard Restoration. Maybe if they were to be more aggressive with zone phasing we could see things improve in player areas come post-6.0 as I imagine the ever looming Garlean threat will be mostly resolved by then and that'll stop being an in-universe excuse for infrastructure delays.
I can definitely understand having a real appreciation/love for a certain area in the game. I for one am quite partial to the Dravanian Fore/Hinterlands and Lakeland.. and I would definitely have liked to make something off the abandoned ruins outside Idyllshire.. or having Alexander go bye bye once you're fully done with that story.. or actually make something likeable out of the mess that is Mor Dhona again.. comparing Mor Dhona to Lakeland really makes you sad at how stark of a contrast the maps are despite being the same general area on The Source and The First respectively.
Buuut off course, overworld problems aside.. part of why you're not likely to get anything you'd like to see for Doma is because there's thousands more all with their own favorite regions who all would also want far more for their own favorites as well. All the while Yoshi P and his team seem far more inclined to just keep moving forward rather than spent considerable time on old maps.
Another Idea I have for all settlements outside of the main city states is to give each zone an inn. I personally really like inns, because it's always great to have more local areas to use the glamour wardrobe within.
Doma getting a quest to build an inn after you complete the Enclave would be wonderful.
Mor Dohna, Idyllshire, Rhalgrs Reach, and Eulmore should all get inns automatically.
Going off this idea, perhaps our island sanctuary can gain inn room themes and you can teleport to your unlocked inns. Since I assume it won't have full blown housing systems an inn room would be neat, the inns look nice and adding more and also reusing their assets could be helpful. It would also make a decent point of collecting, to gain the many themes in the game. (and as your idea you might get other inn areas). Unlocking these relationships may also relate to the farming or what have you the island has as well. I'm quite hopeful they went wild with the idea since they delayed it a few times (and the concept art looks awesome), but we'll see I guess lol.Another Idea I have for all settlements outside of the main city states is to give each zone an inn. To further make it nice they can add a few slots in the room for trophies, weapons, and stuff. So it's an inn room, upgraded. If it goes over well maybe they can add another floor and stuff. I assume a door to your apartment would be a neat / wise option too. Even better if they found a way to nearly phase it seamlessly.

This and Kugane are my favourite areas. I hope that those who are critical of Stormblood in general wouldn't be against more Far Eastern content.
I really hope that after Endwalkers wraps up, we get another expansion in the Far East. Perhaps a Hingashi expansion with a lot of extra content added for Yanxia/Doma, Nagxia, and Azim Steppe. I've been playing a lot of Genshin Impact lately, and felt there are even many aspects of Chinese culture still unrepresented in Liyue. Such as a lack of Hanfu. For those who love the flowy robe look of Kimono and Hanbok, various styles of Hanfu are very similar. Yet there aren't too many video games that feature Hanfu on characters. Even Liyue people in Genshin Impact. To say nothing of the lack of representation in Final Fantasy XIV.
Yanxia is ostensibly a fusion of Japanese culture inside Mainland China. Being a fantasy setting, lots of cultures have been fused in Final Fantasy XIV. I don't think there's anything at all wrong with that. And many aspects of Japanese culture came from Tang Dynasty China. But it would be nice to see more aspects of East Asian cultures feature here. More Chinese names, both Han and those of other ethnic backgrounds like Manchu, Han, ect. An Austronesian area with Gamelan music(I'm sure Hiroki Kikuta would be happy to provide, he's made Gamelan music before). And some Korean inspiration as well.
I think more exploration of Yanxia, Nagxia, Hingashi, and the surrounding areas, would be a great excuse to explore not only them more, but represent more of Asian culture in general.
I don't want them to suddenly take away Doma Ninja and Samurai. Or have less characters with Japanese names, as is the trend they've started. But there's no one named, say, Qiqi, Yaoyao, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Keqing, Zhongli, Hu Tao, Ningguang or Beidou in Final Fantasy XIV. A few names like that here or there would be nice. Names of Han, Hmong, Hui, Uyghur, Manchu, and also Korean would be nice.
And I'm sure there's also reason in recent expansions like Endwalkers for Hingashi to open up, in the future. That region can stay as Japanese as it's been so far!
