Yeah, the fact that you can just buy the drops off the marketboard without ever setting foot in DR removes any sort of perceived "prestige" already.Ignore Vickii, they're one of the local forum trolls.
What baffles me is how people don't understand that adding items to a token system doesn't make them less rare than something you might get on your first run. If the hair and mount cost 999 silver coins or whatever it would be just as rare, if not rarer because it would still take over 50 runs and only the dedicated will get their hands on it. The only thing it does is add QoL so some unlucky person won't statistically get the short end of the stick and end up with nothing after 100 runs.
Rng is an old, outdated system. The people who like rng don't want rarity, they want to get lucky every so often and have a "rare" item without having had to work too hard for it.
Having the items just means you either got lucky or have gil to burn.
