The difference is that FFXIV has Normal and Ultimate as well, but FFXIV has more Normal content because it's easier to develop and there are more people who would do Normal over Ultimate (not even counting people who have to do Normal to do Savage to do Ultimate). So it's not underrepresentation when you have 1 or 2 Ultimate in an expansion over 12 for Normal/Savage.
It isn't different, which is why we go back to giving content proportionally. I am growing tired of having to repeat myself over and over again while you then proclaim me being dismissive. You are jailed by your own bias so badly that you keep repeating the same things completely disregarding what is actually being said. You can also stop with the false equivalencies. It's not about 12 NM/Savage v 1-2 Ultimates. It's about all of those plus all of the other things I already mentioned. Again, you are purposefully omitting information to suit your own tunnel vision.

Nope, because my question to you applies to those other things as well. So what's the difference between you not liking chocobo racing vs me not liking chocobo racing? It doesn't matter how many list of contents you have. It's not simply about difficult content vs not-difficult contents.

You simply like too few contents that this game offers, and the game simply doesn't cater to you alone. It's time to stop being upset over it and either quit this game entirely or at least supplement it with other games that would "scratch your itch" in terms of difficult content.

Are you being serious or are you trolling at the moment? It's about content that is for everyone and right now there is plenty of content for a more casual group and there is almost no content for someone like me. That's it, that's all there is to it and I have to wait years at a time before it actually releases. All the other mindless things I do like Expert Roulette and Hunts (for materia) etc and even Savage is only to get ready for the content I actually want to do, ULTIMATE. Oh how I wish the roles were reversed sometimes
Where all we had was Ultimate level content and once in a while, they would release an easy 24 man Nier raid! Then I could be like:

ThiS GaMe iS JuSt MeAnt FoR HaRdcoRe PlayErs. Tough luck bro. You mean you would have appreciated it if we dropped one of the 50 hardcore pieces of content so you get something you enjoy a bit more? That's toxic! But no, I wouldn't be like that, I would sympathize and I would in fact agree that everyone deserves something and people shouldn't be waiting for over 2 or three years to get something specifically to their needs. Otherwise you just stop playing, which as I stated before, I will.

Ah, so because a content is not challenging enough for you, that means it's content for everyone-else-that's-not-you.

Just in case someone didn't catch it, Wildstar died, largely (not a great launch didn't help either), because of the super end game focus - mmos can easily survive on casual content, they cannot easily survive on hardcore content, and what made it last longer than otherwise was because it's housing system was really cool (basically the best casual feature the mmo had was the main reason it didn't immediately implode but had a slow death).

Of course balance would be nice. I'm not in love with the idea that Ultimate was cut FOR farmville, seems like that is impossible for us to know and designed to make people upset, but if you were at a board meeting and you had to make a choice "best for the health of the game" it seems like you'd consistently choose not super hardcore content over casual content (which is honestly the case already, ultimate once or twice an expansion.. that's not a lot lol). That was what I was kind of trying to say on the front page. If one had to choose it makes sense that casual stuff wins out more often... but it would be nice if everyone is a winner.

There are games where casual is the minority but from watching this stuff for a while it's pretty clear to me that casuals are not just the majority but a hilariously large part of the majority. An example where something doesn't follow the norm and is probably better for it would be Dark Souls, or if we had to talk MMOs.. I suppose maybe EVE? EVE looks like a nightmare you'd have to pay me to play but I see some people really like that lol. I'm going to stick with Dark Souls though since I actually like that game rather than EVE which looks like I'd rather shovel chocobo dung (personal preference, not claiming EVE is factually a bad game, but it's a bad game "for me").
