The final step was fine though in my opinion with having to run Delubrum Reginae or POTD. But again...illusion of choice. POTD is completely random. DR rewards you with one every time at the end.
I think the point is more that PotD is an easy option anyone can do, while there may be a number of casual players who regard DR to be "too hard" for them.
So it may not be a choice for you, but for soneone who dislikes running 'more difficult' content so much, it's more of a pros v cons thing.
