Title. Got into an instance with like 20 DPS and 4 heals. No tanks.
0/10 would program like this again.

Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV
Or just go in as a tank so you never have this problem.
I mean with that attitude there would be 24 tanks, no healers and no dps. Considering Doom and lack of dps it would take hours to clear and would need a lot of coordianation as to people bringing raise actions. But yea I guess Git gud and go tank contributes well.
Hopeful my moan has more contribution to the discussion. If not? We’ll standards aren’t all that high atm anyway.
Lacus Litore, too. Castrum pops, 26 people go in. One tank, 3 healers, everyone leaves.
In Bozja (and Delubrum), DPS can tank and heal, and healers can DPS and tank.
A healer using DPS essences will outdamage DPS jobs that don't use anything, even.
There is no need for role requirements because, in Bozja, any role can play as any other role.
The assumption that every person is playing optimally is foolish. I was also the only tank in Castrum, no one else volunteered to tank, and surprisingly, we failed. Hell, even the healers barely healed.
They barely do their own roles, and you want them to do other ones?
I do think that if they handled it like PvP it would be fine. I don't see a situation where all 24 people will play tank.
Had a run last night with no healers, which resulted in a lot of deaths that could have been prevented if just a few of us could have changed jobs. Either they should let people adjust on the fly before the baby gate comes down, or they needed to design the dungeon in such a way that you don't need any specific roles provided you play correctly. But when you have situations with room-wide damage, you're punished for not having healers.
So is the assumption every player is going to play badly. Delubrum is not hard to clear.
Except when a dps pretending to be a tank meets a tank buster, then they are erased from existence in the blink of an eye.
People should know how to use Lost Actions before they reach this raid. That's why it doesn't have role requirements. You pick somebody to tank and they increase their HP/def/enmity by applying actions. The chances that nobody in a 24 man alliance has anything useful in their box is small.
If they do something similar in future expansions I would like it simplified down to a smaller number of actions that don't need to be collected and aren't consumable, so everyone always has them and there's no excuses to be playing empty. Just pick the appropriate buff for situation and go.
