I wouldn't, not if it means Zenos getting Hydaelyn. That would be a letdown of an ending to the story that began with us hearing Hydaelyn's voice.

SE try to always to counter the obvious theory, so a Zenos/Hydaelyn/Zodiark or a fusion between two or three seems to obvious.

I think we will get an unknown boss who will pop-up at the end like in many FF games.

It could be the Apocalypse creature itself, or why not a fusion of the Twelves summons like a test to see if the planet and his people deserve to continue to live or not (so it will be erase from the existence and time forever).

I still have a feeling that the Anima trial might be what's left of Zodiark's primal consciousness. Alternatively, his cell.

As for the Twelve, they seem to be deities inspired by the Convocation rather than anything concrete. There's at least two instances now which seem to fit, one being Azem, the other being the overlap between Hades and some of Nald'thal's traits. But I wouldn't be surprised if some form of test arises. Nonetheless, my guess as to the actual end boss is that it'll be whatever was ultimately behind the Final Days.

That's all a function of how bold they want to be. It's really up to me, and not you, whether I choose to be disappointed or let down by something. So I'll respectfully disagree on that point.

I trust in the developers to be able to make something interesting out of it, especially since they are already throwing in some parallels between the WoL's form and the way Elidibus used to appear on the moon. In the end, there are hints of Vayne in Zenos, and thus the Venat/Vayne association if they wanted to capitalise on it. And I'd sooner trust in their ability than what gcbtw thinks they can do with such a reference. No offence.

Well, you have Yoshida talking about the mood of the end of the story and why they chose paladin as the job theme to represent that.

I think it'll be interesting either way, but the setup is still favoring the WoL be on the side of Hydaelyn or even neutral. It depends om what they actually mean by an end to the story.
