I don't really care about headgear, however I do understand the frustration a bit. It seems as though it's a difficult spot for the developers to find a way around it.

However it shouldn't be much of a problem to add new hairstyles to Viera at least. We haven't seen them since the release of SHB.

I agree with you, however they are making a very solid point considering this thread isn't about the lack of other Valentines items, but explicitly the hat itself:

SE acting as if we have access to hats by making the only clothing reward a hat does nothing but anger players even more about the lack of headgear for those races. That decision only serves as yet another a reminder that those two races are being shafted for head options.

I don't mean to be rude, but you're reading a lot into my post that I didn't write.

They said viera would get more unique viera hair, and I'm holding them to that. That wasn't from demands or feedback, that was part of the initial reveal when they said they would not be getting head pieces. That's not asking for people to work for free. That's asking for what SE said they would deliver on.

It's funny in every thread like this I keep reading "SE told you that you wouldn't get hats!" but the same people rarely say "SE told you that you would get more hairstyles."

It feels like some people are only interested in trying to shame us for wanting something as basic as more head options than the miserable selection we have right now.

The exceptions are because employees at Square did work off the clock, on their own time, to make them work, and this was done without even Yoshida's knowledge until it was complete and ready to launch. (This is also why we have flying in ARR zones)

There is a mod to make all headgear work on vieras, i'm not saying to use since it is against the TOS but Small indie please understand, they simply couldn't do it but one guy in his basement could .

Works for me. Seems like I see more players with their headgear completely hidden than I see displaying the headgear that Viera and Hrothgar complain they can't wear. What does get displayed tends to be items that Viera and Hrothgar can wear (flower corsages, spectacles, creature heads, etc.).

If we're treating head gear like stat sticks because we don't want to display it, might as well remove it. SE can spend the time saved creating more glamours for other slots.

Or just give everyone else rabbit ears or lion manes by default. Maybe that will force the dev team to address some issues if it is suddenly everyone's problem.
