Instead of cutting Ultimate from 5.5 why not cut bozja?

New jobs are NOT supported as well as RDM and SAM (DNC has 1 glow weapon while every other job has 16)


BUUUUUT Eureka was much worse with 4 essentially dead zones for the relic

i disagree here about 4 lords
byakko and Seiryu are incredibly mediocre fights compared to weapons and one of the 4 lords is a dungeon boss
sapphire weapon atleast has one the funnest and coolest instances in the game

both shb and sb raids have there ups and downs
just because 2/3 of the bosses didnt have door boss makes them lesser

I never noticed it then, probably won't notice it now. Make my own food and pots, don't sell them.

Also, since my static is still going, other people not raiding won't make a difference to me.

Ultimate being delayed is not the end of the world like a few here make it out to bw.

Deep dungeons weren't that bad back in the day. I think that Eureka and later Bazja were supposed to be a variation on that content to keep it fresh and interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another deep dungeon on the moon or perhaps as a part of the void ark. I like to complain about Bazja, but it isn't completely horrible. It just has some flaws to it that cause a ton of complaints to fire up, like the penalties for death applying when you haven't even seen the mechanics of a dungeon yet, losing an entire levels worth of mettle and having to grind a lot to get it back after that first run. The other rough spot is organizing runs in terms of Castrum, and the way they did the relic being counter productive to keeping people active in the new content.

Yeah, long term people do need a way to get the relic outside of Bazja and southern front, but making it actually preferable to Southern Front when it is active felt like it was heavily unintended.

It would be nice to see them mix it up a bit, and bring out a procedurally generated outdoor zone that uses stuff like lost actions, as a new version of the deep dungeon.
This could be perfect for a lunar surface zone, exploring craters and canyons on the moon, and then entering through caves to an underground portion.
Something like, you get randomly dropped on the surface of the moon, and have to find your way to the center... then again that could be too far in the realm of the MSQ, and a deep dungeon is always side content.

While I know that working from home is nowhere near as efficient as office work for this type of development, I can definitely understand why raiders will feel so frustrated. We will not see new raid content until we get near October. That’s going to be nearly a year between updates. I don’t expect many static’s to last that long.

The other reason why Borja was not cut is that it’s also a different team making it so those devs may not be as critical to getting EW done as they would be working in the EW exploration / relic content.

I dont understand the "Ultimate completed or EW completed" mentality. If producing an ultimate for a specific part of the community (regardless what the percentage is) is going to affect the bottom line of the next expansion, why did SE bother to delay it anyways at 5.3 and not outright cancel it?

Why should an Ultimate affect the release of a new expansion if you have already delayed the Ultimate with promises of 2 ultimates and expansion? That to me sounds heavily like mismanagement if one product of content would affect the overall release of another (especially if you had previously delayed the release).

I understand COVID is a factor in all of this; but this comes down to resource management and planning. I just dont want to see the continued usage of COVID as a reason why content seems to be shifted down the line; because it turns from an understandable situation to a scapegoat rather quickly.

Are you suggesting, that in the middle of a world pandemic, groups of people assumed that everything would proceed just as they wanted it? Really? You know what, my plans for the last year and this have also been disrupted. However my reaction, and most other grown ups, is to bear with it and help each other where we can. I can sympathise with people who have really suffered through this terrible pandemic. Even more so for people who have lost loved ones. But for people moaning because a pastime game hasn't done what they wanted, well.....nothing.

PotD and the loss of a dungeon were decisions made long before Covid even existed. Furthermore, they had eighteen months to design the second Ultimate, or relay information to the playerbase of its potential delay. They did neither—waiting until the literal last second to spring such news onto everyone likely because they knew it'd cause a plethora of players to unsub. Meanwhile, if you're a casual players, everything did proceed as planned with no interruption for your preferred content.

Regardless, you're arguing a fallacy here. Raiders are allowed to be upset their content was cancel in the same way casual players flipped out they lost dungeons.

Starting off with an implied ad hominem is not the best way to begin a conversation, so let's charitably assume you meant that generally.

What I'm getting at is that the current situation owes itself just as much to covid as it does to decisions taken with respect to the content pipeline well before this pandemic happened. The former is obviously unfortunate and I agree there's not much to do but shrug there, but the latter has lessons we can learn from.

What I would like SE to remember is that combat will always be the meat to the potatoes that is this game's story, both are nice but really they complement each other. Cultivating a robust baseline lets you hedge against unexpected events, because what has happened is they've pared things down to the bare essentials and covid came along and kicked out the last pillar that was holding things up. So speaking for my demographic, I hope this is taken to heart going forward.

I've been playing since 1.0,and have never really taken an extended break. I still find things to do I haven't done before.


I guess I just see the game differently than others. Oh well. Blanket statements like "longterm players have nothing to do" is rather silly.
