You're right. If they were perfect they would have everything in place for having everyone working at distance. They are not! So they didn't! So we get cuts.
They prioritized an expansion over Ultimate. Take your L and have a biscuit and maybe you won't be so mad.
My bad. I copied the link from my previous reply here. It's fixed now https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme..._bad_news_for/
The expansion isnt looking that tasty and exciting. At least right now. I also wish them to work on that, rather than delivering 1 piece of content for a small audience. Once you beat the ultimate it becomes... out of date. Like the previous ultimates, right?
Stop pretending that what you want is what everyone wants. Plenty of people enjoy things you don't. Ultimate getting canceled makes the most since as it is content run by the least number of people.
Less dungeons
Lesser trials compared to 4 Lords
Lesser raids compared to Omega
One less Ultimate
New jobs are NOT supported as well as RDM and SAM (DNC has 1 glow weapon while every other job has 16)
BUUUUUT Eureka was much worse with 4 essentially dead zones for the relic
I´m not getting it with OmegaLess dungeons
Lesser trials compared to 4 Lords
Lesser raids compared to Omega
One less Ultimate
New jobs are NOT supported as well as RDM and SAM (DNC has 1 glow weapon while every other job has 16)
BUUUUUT Eureka was much worse with 4 essentially dead zones for the relic
Deltascape, Sigmascape, Alphascape i'm counting three Eden's Gate, Eden's Verse, Eden's Promise nope still counting only 3
but yes we got lesser trials in shb 7(8*) Vs 9 in sb (* when we get 5.5)
But shb got more high end trials 9 Vs 8 in sb
and we got lesser dungeon in shb 12 Vs 15 in Sb

SHB had : Titania, Innocence, Hades, Varis, WoL, Ruby, Emerald and Diamond. That's 8
SB had: Lakshmi, Susano, Shinryu, Tsukuyomi, Rathalos, Byakko, Suzaku and Seiryu. Also 8.
Both 7 'main' trials and an extra gimmicky one.
You could also count Gilgamesh I guess, though he doesn't get an EX level version, but then what about the Unreal trials? We'll have had 3 of those since they started, but only one at a time so I'd count that as one extra trial.
We know we've had fewer dungeons, but that's easier to accept given how many dungeons we get anyway, and nobody likes to do them again past their first time. They're just fodder for the roulette.
In that sense, I do wish we had at least 2 dungeons on alternate patches, just so Expert Roulette could have 3 dungeons to pull from at any given time. But just like adding new jobs every single expansion, the number of dungeons we have is getting bigger and bigger as time goes on. I don't think they can reduce the number of dungeons though because one per patch seems like the bare minimum.

Here's a fun fact that came to mind. The black mage best in slot gearset for this tier costs 4315 tomes which take 10 weeks to accumulate. We've just entered week 9 of the tier, which means if my reckoning is right, no black mage succeeded in completing that gearset before they received the news that there would be no ultimate to use it in anyway.
Jokes aside, I don't think people would be anywhere near as upset if this news was communicated at a better time. Raiding groups were completely blindsided with plans for the coming months having to be thrown out, and many groups formed for the last Eden tier itself were formed on the assumption that they would have reason to stick together for the long haul.
I think this has also been exacerbated by a general dearth of combat content this expansion in general. We've gone from 2 (or was it 2 and 1 alternating) new dungeons a patch to 1, and while most people (not least the hardcore raiders) consider them trifling, they nonetheless served as set dressing to enrich the game world and the baseline of combat related content. We're also seeing deep dungeon go 'on break' for the first time, which was unique content in terms of being able to satisfy both casual alt levelers and hardcore solo players.
Either of these things alone (even the loss of an ultimate) could be conceivably shrugged off, but we're seeing an unfortunate confluence of all of them at once which is why I venture this news stings particularly bad for some people.

Are you suggesting, that in the middle of a world pandemic, groups of people assumed that everything would proceed just as they wanted it? Really? You know what, my plans for the last year and this have also been disrupted. However my reaction, and most other grown ups, is to bear with it and help each other where we can. I can sympathise with people who have really suffered through this terrible pandemic. Even more so for people who have lost loved ones. But for people moaning because a pastime game hasn't done what they wanted, well.....nothing.Here's a fun fact that came to mind.
