For WoW refugees. What was not announced?

Island Sanctuaries were announced and they are not locked behind you having to grind renown with your faction you picked. Given Squares history I do not expect them to be some time gated garbage where we can only do one new thing every other week.

The timegating of FFXIV is handled in another way, they give you an option an incomplete game mode that will be completed through patches, also this "island" does not look like the Covenant of the Wow because as much as possible it is something totally optional to obtain cosmetics

Flight was not changed to require max reputation with every single new Beast tribe, plus multiple achievements and also arbitrary 1+ year wait times.

Man let's be honest the flight the Wow and its obtaining is shit, but of course the maps in Wow are used for many things compared to the FFXIV that only serve to make Hunts.

Now I gave Blizzard hell for this BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT it was because they also required you to have max rep in a faction to unlock them. Also in FF14 having level 70 on one character means you do not need to start another alt just to get the character you wanted in the first place.

Did I miss something or in the Wow are there classes blocked by reputation? I have to remember that to get the classes in Ishgard you have to complete the ARR MSQ and also start at level 30?
To me the current Alters in Wow bothers me a lot because in Pandaria or in Cataclyms you could level up a class just doing dungeons or PVP but in Shadowlands they force you to do the introduction of everything

Your characters home is still whatever you originally picked and there are rules to prevent RMT but please realize what we are being given for free.

Yeah I know I got a laugh out of this too but there is a post they update every week that noone reads telling you how many accounts they ban on weekly basis based on reports we make.

If they really cared about the RMT they would do something like the PF and all those posts that send you to talk on "Discord"

Not sure if anyone addressed this cause I cbf to read through 7 pages. The issue here is that the PF's advertisers aren't breaking any official rules with their ads. They aren't listing official costs or making it flat out say: "HI, WE ARE RMT." So, ultimately, SE can't do anything about them unless someone slips up in their ad and flat out states that it's RMT. They don't touch Discord or anything else because it's third party and they have a pretty firm stance on not taking any evidence from third party on the basis that it can be doctored/photoshopped. The only way they take third party is if the PF advertiser themselves posts a link that directly leads to RMT prices (We learned this when the RP craziness went down and PF advertisers were getting thrown into gaol for posting links that led to ERP prices right on the main page). They aren't going to enter a Discord server and dig for proof. So I'm sure they're aware but probably can't do anything since they aren't violating official rules while using FF's PF.

they could ban 20,000 accounts per week, but they only ban the ones barking in cities about low priced gil.

there is no way I would imagine that in any way combating RMT.

Ban the buyers... they do that enough times then some progress might be made on the RMT front. once fewer people are buying their gil, the better it becomes for all.

There is no rep requirement for hero class in WoW as far as I know (maybe in the past, but certainly not since 2018 when I first started playing WoW).

Also, regarding this, while it's not a good solution, you are able to bypass the hero class requirement by boosting a character. I wish there is a way in FFXIV to just unlock a new job like Samurai for a character without unlocking any base class first, even if it means using a job boost.

That should fall under accounts "engaging/participating in RMT," which they do terminate.

There is no rep requirement for hero class in WoW as far as I know (maybe in the past, but certainly not since 2018 when I first started playing WoW).

Also, regarding this, while it's not a good solution, you are able to bypass the hero class requirement by boosting a character. I wish there is a way in FFXIV to just unlock a new job like Samurai for a character without unlocking any base class first, even if it means using a job boost.

Dark Iron Dwarf?!?!? Furry fox guys!?!?? Little Elf from Legion content?!?!? All required you to grind rep on one character you may never have intended to ever play just to play what you actually wanted and it turns out faction changes are $14 so conveniently saves time. They never required you to grind rep in Burning Crusade to play a Blood Elf. Someone at Blizzard realized people would pay for race changes verses rerolling an entirely new character just to play what they wanted to in the first place.

The Allied Race content in WoW is a poor rip off of FF14 from Blizzard trying to apply thing from this MMO to theirs and not understanding the barriers to entry it creates because to do a different class in WoW you literally need to roll a new character not just click a button and switch.

But yes, allied race unlock requirement is not something I would like in FFXIV and it's not even lore-appropriate in WoW.

That said, they have removed all reputation requirement. You just need to do the quest requirements, so it's easier/faster to unlock, but it's still bad as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry I got the race/job thing mixed up. I was trying to get a point across that literally noone considers is an actual problem until you try to do it. My guess is Blizzard justifies it by the rush of Blood Elfs they saw during Burning Crusade and the race changes are just an extra incentive but they fail to understand the new player experience that Square Enix makes work with the system we have.

I did not expect Sage to starting at lvl 70 either.
