It has uses in Eureka and Bozja, too, but aside from some FATEs, it's not really useful much of anywhere else. Trash mobs generally die too fast to be worth the time, and anything else is probably immune to it.

I don't understand how are you all having so many bad DF experiences. For me its almost always nothing remarkable, just usual things like sprouts tanking the floor in alliance raids. I mostly do the roulettes as a tank or healer and its always quick, even something like people ignoring mechs mostly end up one shots.
And since I am on Light DC, its extremely rare for people to write anything besides some form of "Hi" at the start.

I like hi's and chatting during the run and the have fun at the end.
"Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."

I once had a party where I was leveling blm where the tank just flat-out could not use his aggro tools for the life of him. The amount of times I cast sleep to keep the party alive was heartbreaking. You know something's wrong with a DNC in dungeon runs when you see no AoE at all during pulls, or hear them starting a [Standard Step] and then..
*ching ching...

...ching ching ching ching ching ching*
Also this is probably just me... I like putting the adds in 2nd boss of Brayflox to sleep, even moreso when I matched with a party that's missing their AoE kits. It deeply annoys me when people wake the adds up >.>
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.

Same. The only chatter which occasionally happens is during MSQ roulette, or - seldomly - if a dungeon runs starts weirdly wrong with actual suggestions/questions and answers.I don't understand how are you all having so many bad DF experiences. Seeing how sprouts are automatically defaulted to NN chat and may or may not be "busy" with the actual dungeon (depending on any prior experience or running dungeons more than needed), I wouldn't be surprised if many don't read or notice the chat that much due to tunnel visioning. Happens to me as well.
Just a proud bad-skilked player

True. I just haven't been in Bozja in several months, so that had slipped my mind.
But a party of healers with Essence of the Ordained going, where you hit Repose and then folks cast Lost Death one at a time (so that hopefully it works for SOMEONE) = happy Starred mob murder spree.
(Admittedly, if everyone in the party has Lost Death fail to pop, that's when you all get to sprint across the battlefield leaving little cartoonish dust-clouds in your wake, trying to get away before the starred mob wakes up and eats you.)
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

Anyone else find people who don't wait for countdowns a bit rage inducing?
Was running Titania normal on my trial roulette, we wiped once and killed it on the second pull, both times the red mage pulled on their own while ignoring the countdown. I really don't get what's so hard about waiting for a 10 second countdown, even a dog can be taught to wait but apparently some people can't be.
I saw the red mage on their own away from their party and got really tempted to swivel on over and point the tankbuster at them, but decided against it.
Seriously though, why do non-tanks think it's fine to ignore the countdown and pull early? I get that it's normal content but do people really find it so hard to wait 10 seconds before starting and basically inconveniencing everyone because you pulled early?
Watching forum drama be like

So I hit Dancer 70 the other day, and hadn't done my leveling roulette yet. It's my last job I need for Amaro mount, so I queued while starting the quests to get the 70 skill, Technical Step. I thought to myself, "The odds of me getting Castrum Abania are pretty low, so shouldn't need to worry..."
But then I got Castrum Abania anyway, and got to look like I was lazy and just ignoring Technical Step... cause I didn't have it unlocked yet. Whoops. I'm the baddie!

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
When you are miles away from an AOE but the server disagrees.

Personally, I wouldn’t say it’s as bad as ‘rage inducing’. It’s one of those little things the slightly trifling in general. Tanks or anybody who starts a battle countdown is always a plus in my own handbook. Heck, even when it’s a normal content, I find a great joy to pull off a prepull prep such as shielding. (Even though they’re not needed at all).Anyone else find people who don't wait for countdowns a bit rage inducing?

Of course I will feel annoyed when somebody pull/ earlier when I haven’t finish the prepull prep (even moreso with AST because I’ll be locked to a sect I’m not planning to be). But that’s it, really. /shrug
Probably some evil laughter if I see them getting bamboozled once or twice, though.![]()
