Yeah, even when there are no first timer. Nine out of ten times the culprit was of course the adds phase. Many times I even marked which add to kill first & their priority order after, people still don't get it . Also less but happens: a tank that fights for aggro of all adds.

And here your party cleared it in one go. I'm genuinely amazed.

I do have to admit that DRG's tether buff is visually... ominous in a way... lol. That MNK probably never played DRG hence the cautionary behavior.

How often do you actually have the time in mid-battle to stop and read a buff icon, though? Especially for a positional DPS like monk, and in a trial like Titania where there's just a lot going on. Not saying it wasn't incorrect, just saying I can understand the mistake.

Actually, allow me to fix it: I mean, ‘LOOK’ at the buff icon. Beneficial buffs shaped like an arrow pointing up while debuffs pointing down.

Just had my most messy dungeon experience to date. Died a total of like, 7 times, probably stressed the white mage out. It's me, I'm the one you're yelling about at 7 am on a thursday morning, wondering why I can't dodge the dang AOEs.

My mouse broke during the first boss of Gubal Library, had to tell WHM not to rez me so I could clean it out thinking it just gunked up (I'm not dirty I swear, I just forget that stuff can build up from every day use). That didn't work so I had to fish a new one out from my drawers and connect it. My DPI was then subsequently effed the heck up, so I'm not really able to use it without fiddling a little bit. 2nd boss and I'm okay, if a little bit confused abt my wearabouts. 3rd boss though, oh boy, I died like three times, basically felt like a limp fish doing absolutely nothing constructive. What makes it worse is I'm the newb to the dngn, I'm the one who doesn't know mechanics, so on top of all this I'm still a bit slow on the uptake for certain things.

It's over, and 2 out of the 3 party members are still there. I apologize for their having to witness what was quite possibly my most messed up dungeon run of ALL TIME. They placate me. I give a big fat commendation to the tank. I exit the dungeon, sufficiently cowed by this experience.

And I got 3 comms out of that. :'3c Nicest dungeon mates ever.

Shockingly enough, I haven't had many wipes in Titania. Now, I didn't do it first week, or even first month, so I haven't experienced the many wipes from then, but I've had some really good luck.

I was actually really surprised this one made it without a wipe because 1. we got to 96% on the meter 2. the arena was enveloped in flames three times.

For sure, and even being a non-sprout just means he made it to SHB, I didn't check his other jobs so it might even be his only one. I was more amazed that he ran over and stood in the AOE. And I do mean stood, he didn't make to run back in after the tether went away. Is the twizzler that scary...

Maybe I should quit my day job, become a Brambles mechanic.

Keyboard users dont really have an excuse to be honest. As a controller user I have to drop the thing to use my mouse.

Actually, during battles, I use the mouse to move the camera and move around, always pressing one or both buttons. If I release the two buttons to try and target a tiny buff icon it's almost certain that I'll die to an AOE or mechanic. So using the mouse isn't feasible for me.

Having said that, the buffs and debuffs are on different windows and I have them arranged so they are just above my ability bars as one line windows, first the buffs and above that the debuffs. Even if I don't know what the specific icons mean, their position make them a debuff. I also have to admit that ages ago, the first time I got that chain to a Dragoon, I panicked and started thinking that I messed the mechanics. Still I saw no debuffs and made the mental connection that it's not a bad thing...

You know something's wrong with a DNC in dungeon runs when you see no AoE at all during pulls, or hear them starting a [Standard Step] and then..
    *ching ching...

Also this is probably just me... I like putting the adds in 2nd boss of Brayflox to sleep, even moreso when I matched with a party that's missing their AoE kits. It deeply annoys me when people wake the adds up >.>

The game has so little use for crowd control in general that most people probably don't even realize that's an option. When I was doing the ShB role quests, I honestly didn't even have Repose on my bars until the game told me I needed it.

I swear, crowd control is startlingly useful in serious Deep Dungeon runs, and probably not a lot of other places. PLD's Shield Bash, Repose... heck, very deep in PotD is the one place in the game I've ever found Fluid Aura to still be occasionally useful!

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.
