Does Square intend to address Market botting?

It's gotten completely out of hand on Coeurl. I've sent my reports but they seem to have no effect against the jerks running rampant there. Worst part is it's a pretty obvious one too... doesn't even really try to cover it up and I gave very specific information about the person and their exact location at certain hours each day. Apparenly that's not enough. I'f lay out what i've learned so far, but I heard there is something about calling out specific people, so that's a bust.

*sighs* At this point it feels like my only choices now are to give up on my income and my goals or to try to create some mammoth cross-world infrastructure to try to find somewhere... anywhere... I can sell things. Except deep down I know that second thing will be too much for me and my motivation to do so is weak since, you know, I'd like to play the actual game. It's starting to sound like there is only one other option aside from those two... the one I can't choose because I have at least some self-respect.

I gave you a dose of reality based on my years of MMO experience. You thought you knew better. Now you understand why I've stopped obsessing over bots.

Again, absolutely report anyone if you've come across undeniable proof that they are botting or cheating in some way. I still do.

But don't let their existence get to you because it's just a game. It's not worth it..

They also didn't do anything about one of my FC mates getting hacked and handing all 64M of the FC chest's money to a low level alt. Apparently they can't restore it because it wasn't my friend's money. Hackers are also very much part of the RMT business.

On another note, if anyone is willing to come to Coeurl, Rhalgr's Reach at 10.0, 12.4... please do. I need a second opinion on whether or not this guy is botting.

I have asserted that Square-Enix, outside of Japan, has been in league with this type of player for a very long time (at least 15 years, possibly more, going back to FFXI). You're going to need to hurt Square-Enix in a way that the Japanese hierarchy of the game, and specifically them, MUST take action. And there may not be a way to do that.

Can confirm same treasure map operation happening across all Chaos,Light worlds. Although, they are selling materials in batches of 6 which most people don't need, they pretty much don't get any sales. Also, there is a new bot ring rising up, on top of 2 existing ones (on Choas). So now people have to compete with 3 bots at the same time. I can only imagine what market board will look like during 6.0 and onward.

If you want to stop cheating, parents and the education system need to teach that cheating is wrong to children when they're still young and the lesson will sink in.

If you want to stop cheating, all games whether multii-player or single player need to stop incorporating cheat codes and allowing mods that players can use to avoid playing the game as intended. That cheat codes even exist in games teaches that's it's okay to cheat.

Crafting isn't pointless. I still make gil by crafting. I occasionally need to change what I'm crafting based on changes in the market but that's a normal part of any game's economy. Sorry if you can't figure out how to do the same.

Nothing I do encourages cheating. I report it when I see it. If someone talks about how maybe they'll cheat, I'll tell them not to do it and why they shouldn't. If they decide to pursue doing it, I disassociate myself from them.

Who does encourage cheating? Those who don't say anything when they find out their friends are cheating. Those who allow those players to remain friends. There are hundreds of thousands of players who just play the game without paying attention to what other players are doing. They don't bother getting involved in discussions like these at all - shouldn't you be getting on their cases for encouraging cheaters?

SE does enforce the ToS. It may not be as consistent as we want but they are doing it. We see people complaining about the suspensions and bans they've gotten. We see the weekly notices about account actions for illicit activity.

But when it's really easy to get a new account, buy a jump potion and complete leveling new characters within a day, it's going to seem like nothing is being done. People keep saying "IP bans" yet VPNs make IP bans ineffective and I would imagine that anyone who likes to cheat makes use of them.

I'm here to relax and enjoy playing a game so that is what I do. I'm only responsible for how I choose to play the game, not how others choose to play it.

You can try pinning the blame on me because I'm visible but you don't accomplish anything by doing so. The blame lies with those who choose to cheat to get what they want instead of earning it through the intended effort.

The case was decided against and the judge basically said SE (nor anyone else) has an obligation to uphold their end of the TOS.

Push SQEX to do more about it.

And what if, worse, it basically obstructs the gameplay of others to try??
