More power to you friend but I find the MSQ bloody tedious and can’t stand dungeons/raids. I’m playing FFXIV as another lifestyle and it does all of it superbly, scenario skip is a blessing in this case.

Nope, and I discourage anyone from doing it. FF14 main selling point is the story. If you're only here for end game content, you're gonna find yourself bored quickly.

Funnily enough I can’t think of another MMO that does what I enjoy better than FFXIV. Tried BDO, WoW and GW2 but FFXIV is the only one that excites me to play, even without doing story.

Not everyone is the same, but most people I've talked to really enjoyed the story, especially after the ARR grind that used to be.

They did very recently (i.e. patch 5.3) compact some of the worst stuff in MSQ. I'm not saying you absolutely have to, but I would like to suggest running an alt through the story at a leisurely pace at some point to give it a second chance.
