Did anyone stop to think that maybe the 2.0 client is done and a world server merge is a easier way for them to port all the data to the new client and servers? Maybe just maybe these are going to be the 2.0 server worlds with different more traditional names?

I do feel the pain of possibly losing friends however, didnt we all lose friends when we decided to play ffxiv while all our ps3 only friends decided to stay with ffxi?

I suggest getting with all your friends and ls and asking what server they will choose and do your best to keep everyone together.

This server merge has been coming for a long time because of the less-populous worlds. Not because they're secretly deploying 2.0 under the codename of 1.21. <_<;

And the names aren't changing... Although that's something people are hoping to change SE's mind about.

You could turn this out in a positive way and see the opportunity to make new friends.

If this is ruining your game experience, I'm glad you never had to move while you were young, that would have ruined your life. At least you have your linkshell friends.

I did move as a child, 100 miles to a different city. I lost many friends. It was a terrible experience. That had to happen, my parents split. This shattering of friendships does not have to happen.

If your linkshell is that good they will decide to move to the same server, if you have more than 1 linkshell you have to make a choice, its too bad.

I just hope they have taken into account players who will be unsubcribed being able to choose a server.
