I would say leaving the FATE boundary gives you a warning and a 30s countdown.
If you don't re-enter the boundary within that time your progress is wiped. if you do re-enter, you get automatically re-synced.

The simpler solution would be to just have everything spawn inside the fate. Then you have no reason to accidently leave the fate area
