On Zalera, I would say about 15 minutes before the rest were on timers due to relocations. We ended up with a really great group in my new Goblet ward. We started our own LS called the Neighborhood Watch!

I agree housing needs to be instance housing. Camping a location is terrible and a waste of time. Or at least open 20 more wards, their so much people in this game and competing against thousands is a big problem and a big no, it created toxicity and players are not happy. They will look for another mmo that better suits them that has everything for them.thank you everyone who replied to my previous post, sadly i couldnt get into game quick enough to get a house not even a small one so am very disappointed as im sure many many people are, since then ive found if someone already has a house they can relocate to another house ignoring any timers, this i feel is extremely uinfair to those that dont have a house and have already camped 2 houses with timers that have been taken out from under my feet, . I love housing and this is the first game ive played that has had this issue of lack of housing, wont mention names, but they have a got a system where it dont matter when or where u want the a house it is there (i believe they call instance housing) but ur never disappointed or have one taken from under ur feet . I cant camp up to 26hrs (that ive read) i have cooking washing ironing cleaning shopping etc, and what about people who work!! we all pay the same for subscriptions we all work hard int he game and in rl so i believe the housing should be given the same chance to everyone. Sorry for rant but this situation is very bad indeed. May even look for another game, i play to enjoy myself not having to wait for hours and someone else comes in and takes it away after hours
Or give us the privilege to build it to large.
I am faerie. I got kicked from launcher as soon as I hit play at 3 am. got in the queue at 838, got in about 7 minutes later peeked at the new wards, All meds and large were gone, smalls were getting snatched up pretty quick. I wanted #11 med but I was like 2 minutes to late but lucked out and found a med in ward 4 land relocated from my small in ward 12 #24 (which is a pretty sweet small honestly)
This exact same scenario is going to play out when and if ishgard housing becomes opens.
Got in at server start. 166 in queue.
I was seconds away from losing the medium I was at to a mix-up in housing. I barely hit relocate in time.
My FC leader got screwed though. Utterly screwed. lobby error kept us from upgrading our FC to a large. Frustrating as hell the one thing we couldn't have planned for was lobby errors screwing us FOR THE SECOND TIME.
God it's always lobby errors.
big houses instand gone. rest around 10-15min
I wonder if this game has ability to perform rollback? Prepatch before 5.4, and DISABLE relocation, and perhaps 20 more wards?
It doesnt hurt to release 5.4 with few additional security involved.

I'm incredibly fortunate to have a house I really enjoy (one of the beachfront Smalls in The Mist). But my dad logged in this morning, and every house was already sold, and it was clear that there is a very real issue.
I'm not upset (why would I be, though?), but I do think some serious changes are in order.
Here are my personal changes, which would not only make things much simpler, but actually IMPROVE functionality in some cases.
- Auto-demolish needs to be reactivated. I think everyone would agree. Just "reset" everyone's timer. Maybe randomly add like "+5 days" for some players if possible, just to stagger the releases a bit.
- Institute a 1-house-per-server restriction. Right now, it is possible for a single player to own TWO HOUSES ON A SINGLE CHARACTER, and that's completely unreasonable. Furthermore, were a player so driven, they could even own additional houses on alts. That is completely unacceptable.
- No more "Free-Company Houses". All Houses should belong to a Player. In making this change, allow a Free Company to "tag" a member's house as "the Free Company house", allowing everyone to port to it. That way, Free Companies aren't sitting on additional houses. Otherwise, that still allows a single player to own two houses.
- Let's face it; there IS and WILL ALWAYS BE a "Housing market". So why not give players a "House Deed" as a tradable item, allowing a more legitimized form of selling or even trading houses? If anything, I would love this, as I would LOVE to be able to trade my house for one that is next to my dad's, even if it's in a less-desirable location.
- In adding all of these restrictions, making House ownership Account-wide. I would love to be able to have alts visit my house, and move furniture around. Enough so, I could totally see turning my original character (this Miqo'te Monk) into my "Housing character", while my new Main continues earning cool new items himself.
Taken together, I honestly think these changes would lead to a FAR better housing market for players.
Also I'll add one more personal suggestion, which is totally unnecessary but kind of bothers me all the same:
- Would it be possible to take all of the "Subdivisions" and turn them into their own separate Wards? It just feels funny that Subdivisions always feel sort of "hidden", whereas treating them as their own Wards would feel a lot more organic and be easier to navigate (for example, having to re-memerize what direction you're facing when using the aetherytes).
No thanks. I only raid log and haven't touched that content in ages but it's nice to own one you know?
Relocating is a huge part of the problem. They opened these for new players, not so you could move house.
I think we will see a resale soon. Unfortunately, adding wards will end up the same. Unless only the subdivisions will be slightly expanded to an additional 2-4, but I'm not sure if this is feasible, because the "macaroni code" and lack of resources.
Some games have special achievements for clearing super difficult content in the first 10-14 days, like in SWTOR. Players receive unique items and titles. But there is an instance-based housing. Unfortunately, at the moment, housing in FF XIV is not designed for such a number of players and rather belongs to luxury/vanity items.Imagine if when a new MSQ comes out, only the first thousand players per server got to experience it. Imagine if when a new Ult/Ex/Savage came out, after 100 clears the raids were shut down and from then on nobody else was allowed to attempt it unless they'd cleared it already. Imagine if only players who queued for pvp on day one of ARR ever got to pvp for the entire remainder of the game unless one of those players stopped playing, at which point a spot would open up. It'd be utter BS, and we know it'd be utter BS, and it'd kill the interest of almost all players into those specific activities entirely- yet for some reason that's fine for housing?
