It's very joe dirt but with a white bandana- it actually looks like that type-0 hairstyle just with the bandana- it's all short on top just pushed back
So, back to the drawing board- what hairstyles would you like to see?
The funny thing is that for once they used a Roe, so I headcanon it's the most passive aggressive way of saying "here's your macho/tomboy hair now please be quiet".
(Not complaining, I love that it's not another bob, even if it's not everyone's cup of tea)
That roe is actually pretty nice looking now that you mention it
But what got me is it was on a female highlander- I guess because they're the macho females lol
sigh
Sure you can be personally disappointed, but inevitably someone is going to be, whatever they come up with. For my tastes, it adds nothing but disappointment & it's a disgusting mullet. Mullets are a gross, clownish hairstyle imo
it adds nothing to improve the lack of good styles - but to be fair, I don't consider alot of the hairstyles added to have been feminine or masculine but more gender neutral & just poorly done- they look silly on females & males. Add this one to the batch
I'm just sour from the lack of good hairstyles short & long
That doesn't mean it adds no value or that they shouldn't have added it. Clearly some people like it and are going to use it.
It's not something I want to use for any of my characters, but I feel like this fills a gap even if it's not the one you or I am personally looking for. It's not the same shape or structure as existing styles that I can think of. (Compare the 5.31 hairstyle which felt less worthwhile to me because it's a similar shape and length to the PVP style with the braids and also the male "Adventure" style, so it doesn't add anything really new.)
Gender neutrality was a mistake.
Better than the Hawaiian shirt promo using the awkwardest-looking female Roegadyn with the 5.0 protagonist haircut. Cue the "oh look males can equip the skirt... no wait."
Like, it's not that you can't make a feminine-looking Roegadyn but they didn't even try.
That is the absolute truth
I'd love to see properly done feminine hairstyles as much as I would properly done masculine hairstyles. I don't really want gender neutral designed hair- it's fine if both genders can wear it but in FFXIV when it's gender neutral, it tends to look bad, not everything but just most of it- I'm talking about hairstyles of course
Some examples for me in adding good feminine hairstyles would be Gaia & Tsukuyomi![]()

More then likely it's under the hair like they wore it in the 80's which is a really bizarre choice for a modernized game. I could be wrong I haven't seen it in game yet but definitely not excited for it. Oh wait, I probably can't wear it anyway,![]()
Do you even know how sexy Viera would be with Y'sthola's hairstyle? Sexy enough that I would turn into a Viera just to wear Y'sthola's hairstyle. I so terribly want Viera to have access to more hairstyles, better ones- not abunch of hacked up hairstyles SE designer just said "here, have this mess are you happy? it's a hair now hush"
Side note- the new hair looks alot like
