Somehow, I don't think you'd accept a "Keep your inventory clean so the issue never comes up" answer, regardless of it being the actual answer.
You're referring to the quest completion screen that appears only at the end of a quest. I'm saying that asking whether you want to enter the Waking Sands or Rising Stones each and every time is the equivalent of it asking you whether you want to talk to each and every MSQ NPC along the way (not just clicking "Complete" at the end of the quest), which the game does not do. Accordingly, it doesn't make sense for them to ask you whether you want to enter/leave those zones. As I mentioned previously, when would you ever be in the basement of that building of Western Thanalan next to that door and not want to enter the Waking Sands?Oh, I missed this. There actually is one, and I'm very grateful for it.
It pops up at the end of the conversation, asking you to confirm completing the current quest.
More than a few times have I talked to the quest completion NPC to then notice there are other story NPCs around to talk to. Completing the quest typically means they're gone after that.
As I already mentioned, I don't keep stuff that is okay to discard. I have 2 retainers, and I have them selling 20/20 items to remove them from inventory/retainer space. I would gladly accept another free retainer, though. Is that on offer?
Just make it optional and everyone will be happy!
(I also hate them)
So you mean to tell me that you've managed to fill: Your inventory, 2 retainer inventories, your glamour dresser (when applicable), and your chocobo saddle bag, all the while discarding stuff that "is okay to discard," but you STILL have inventory filling issues that would necessitate that part of your argument having merit?
Or are you just an advocate for irresponsible players who have not asked for your advocacy, as far as I can tell at least?
Or maybe you know your argument is poor and are just grasping for straws.
So which of the 3 is it? Or is it the dreaded 4th option, "Other?"
Yes. Would be nice if they didn't have so many token items. Eureka alone takes up more than 10 slots in tokens. There's also current tier crafting items. Potions used on a regular basis.
The retainers are more stuff I can get rid of, and I do. But the rate at which it can be done is limited by the amount of retainers you have.
There should be a confirmation window any time the game is going to destroy or deplete something. So buying things for tomestones? Confirmation window. Desynthesizing something? Confirmation window. Using an aetheryte ticket? Confirmation window (I know I know, but consistency).
I do NOT need a confirmation window to: Open a door inside an instance, enter the Waking Sands, enter or leave a house.
The game SHOULD try to prevent you from making a mistake because of a misclick, but when such a mistake would result in no loss of resources the confirmation window feels more like an annoyance than a safety measure.
Now... for aetheryte tickets specifically, I'd like a checkbox that bypasses it and just always uses one if I have it. Or maybe let me specify a gil threshold above which I'd want to use a ticket (50g to go from Ul'dah to the Gold Saucer? Nah.. 999g to go to Lakeland? Yes please).
See what I said on the previous page relating to a toggle option. I just don't think that would be feasible, unfortunately.
Out of curiosity:
How many times have you walked up to the door of a building and gotten within interaction range and selected it and then pressed whatever hotkey you have saved as Confirm but not intended to enter/leave that building?
How many times have you selected "Extract Materia" on a fully spirit-bonded piece of gear but not intended to actually extract the materia?
How many times have you selected the Mini-Cactpot NPC and pressed Confirm but not intended to play a round?
How many times have you selected "Repair" but not intended to repair your gear?
Even if you did do any of these things, it is probably extremely rare. The time saved from either not being bothered with these pop-ups or at least having the default option be "Yes" would greatly outweigh the time spent on having to correct these "mistakes" once in a blue moon. I have to deal with at least a dozen, but probably closer to 30, of these pop-ups a day. However, just because I don't want a confirmation when I enter/leave buildings doesn't mean that I don't want a confirmation if I'm about to desynth something. My fear is that a toggle option would eliminate all of the confirmation pop-ups instead of just the unnecessary ones. I'm doubtful that SE would allow folks to customize which of the regular actions would have a pop-up and which wouldn't, although this would be the ideal solution.
How about all the places where it asks, Do you want to use the key... or random item you picked up, Yes I do. That is why I picked it up and am clicking on this. Same with MSQ confirmations.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
