*snerk*. Funny!
There's a lot of truth in this statement.
So, I'll flip your question around, T0rn. Without taking in consideration buttons or procs which class are you most interested in?
Play Mch.
No procs, no Dots, no party buffs to worry about, no cast times. Most braindead job in the game if you don't mind spamming buttons over and over.
Either that or play tanks.
WoW is -->
Seriously, this is one of the reasons I always laugh when people say FFXIV is too easy. Like, you've never played WoW which is a game where every class is essentially a three button rotation. There was actually a thread on the WoW forums a few weeks ago started by someone bashing FFXIV, and it backfired big time on the OP, with everyone in that thread saying FFXIV was by far the more difficult game and expects more of its players.
The only thing more difficult about WoW was its raiding and its higher-end content. That was the consensus of that thread.
And even then I doubt enough WOW players have done Savage here to make that call. Honestly as both a Warlock and Black Mage player. I would say the skill level needed to raid FFXIV is higher than WOW, only the top level raids in the short window to gear them seem harder. The raids themselves are not harder than 14 just under geared.
Hey now! I thought you were looking for an easy class. All of the sudden, it's looking like you are looking for a class which has an instant win button.
There's no such class.
If you want to excel at raiding, do the research. Learn your class and the content.
If you are like me, and can't memorize long spell rotations, set up your action bars in order of your spell chains. You'll eventually get to the point where you will do things automatically.
One thing which hasn't been mentioned is that tank have it better than damage dealers. They are constantly needed which means less wait times. They have less complex spell chains.
Why not give Warrior or Paladin a try?
White mage Good enough for just pure focus healing.
1. Cure 2
2. Regen 2
3. Raise.
Black Mage Not most powerful rotation but still you do decent enough dmg and still useful in dungeons, raid and normal Primals.
1. Fire 3
2. Blizzard 3
3. Thunder 3
Dark Knight Enmity combos have been removed. Instead Grit now is powerful enough just keep this activate first and also for MT on bosses.
1. Hard slash
2. soul eater
3. unleash
I take thats you covered enough :P
No. Seriously don't encourage bad Black Mage play, that's almost as bad as Ice Mage. Black Mage has an enjoyable complicated Rotation with a couple of procs to be aware of, managing the balance of Mana and damage output, swapping to Ice to rebuild mana, adding in the instant casts, keeping up a dot, and DPS Boost puddle, the minimalistic movement, the use of the damage shield, the "teleport" to the healer button, these are all important parts of the Job and should never be ignored.
Black Mage should never be suggested to a new player as an easy Job, it's not.
Likewise, never steer a lazy player to healing Jobs, sure the Job has 3 easy rotations, but the gameplay of healing, managing DPS and Keeping the Tank up, and keeping the party alive is not for the lazy. The OP is clearly a Lazy player.
I'd say Tanking, in General, fits in the gameplay that the OP wants, I would, however, steer them to Paladin, it's DPS rotation is fairly simple, it has a bunch of OH Shasta abilities, it's Unique resource is easy to build easy to spend, and can be ignored most of the time. The OverPower self shield isn't suicidal like other tanks, and actually can protect the party if they are behind you.
Paladin, is the closest fit to what the OP wants, few Procs, 3 button combos (granted the third step on single target has an option big hit or dot, and the AOE combo is 2 buttons.)
---
To the OP, ignore the suggestion of Black Mage, it's not a good fit for what you want.
Also Ice Mage, is the term for a Bad Black Mage play who decides they don't want to spend the mana for big hits. So they just cast Ice spells never once risking mana. Their DPS is about 25% of what it can be, a Black Mage should be like Megumin.
