It's not out of the realm that this might be a hint at what might happen in 6.0. Remember, they hinted at Red mage and Blue mage in one of the Rising events around 2014/2015

That's a weak strawman argument, why are there no female Hrothgar aka Ronsos on the First they clearly are shown in FFX and FFX-2, so why should ffxiv be any different?

If they didn't want people to compare don't directly them the thing you don't want them compared to.

We've been given the reason, limited resources to meet two different demands.

If by some miracle those resource issues disappear male Viera and female Hrothgar will likely happen they know there is a sizeable demand for them even if it is just people want to see them.

I am very happy to see this thread returned! Though the arguments may end up being cyclical, it just shows the fervent desire for the missing genders to be added! (I actually joined the forums just to voice my displeasure after fanfest)

as for me my ideal male Viera is still this art work! (basically a mix of Catboi and Elezen with more mature features,more masculine then boyish Miqote faces and less pointy then the bishounen faces of the Elezen, id say classically handsome but there's a debate about what that means I always assumed it meant like "classical" as in "Classical Greece") Masculine but Elegant :

We haven't seen them but they exist. They are extremely reclusive and rare and very, very dangerous.

Personally, I see no reason NOT to include them. Male Viera on the Source could very well have wound up separated from home for any number of reasons including the Calamity.

Male Moon Keeper Miqo'te are also reclusive and rare but they're playable. The Warrior of Light does not represent the general population.

While I wouldn't play them, I am always always always up for more options. More races, more hair, more faces, more everything means more variety which means a more living world.

Also would give them a reason to go back and make sure every hat, helmet and new hair style works for the Viera females and male Horthgar that be greaaat.

When they made Male Miqo'te, Female Higlhander, and Female Roe Yoshi P said they wouldn't do anymore gender locked races because it was archaic and outdated.

So seeing not one, but two gender locked races... yeah of course there will be a huge uproar.

When did he say this? I've seen people say this multiple times in this thread alone, but never provide a source.
