No. Its not needed. Throughout ff lore the males were no where to be seen. Just consider the crap that the girls had to go through this episode and there were no hints of a male viera. Even if the males won't take part in the story the most the dev could've done was show them in a cutscene, why didn't they? Because they're deadbeats. Not necessary. I like the half elezen and human mix but I ain't ask for it.

you could literally be talking about male moon miqote or duskwight elezen here. remove duskwights from character creation the lore says they live underground k thanks

The lore of this game says that male Miqo'te are reclusive and stay to their own clans. Go take a walk in any major city and see how that worked out. Lore is not an excuse.

Not even just Miqos, if we go by lore in a strict way, the only races that are "free" - as in, not bound by culture, customes, religion or otherwise - are Midlander Hyurs and Lalas. The lore argument has been used and debunked so many times that at this point I doubt anyone uses it other than to stir drama.
