...it would be nice if i could exchange my female version of the Peacock attire to the male version through an NPC so i don't have to buy both female and male versions...

this is false. while the peacock robe might be unisex (i honestly have no idea) the majority of mog station outfits are gender locked and separate, meaning you have to buy both sets if you change your gender. and no, for mog station outfits, you cannot exchange, other than the wedding outfits.

I said many, not all. As for what the vendor has, I was sure a few of the gender locked outfits could be exchanged, but then I doubt I will ever play a male character, so I've only looked once.

i'm not sure what you're trying to argue against. most gear in there are gender locked, and while there are some that are unisex, this isn't what the thread is about. they specifically said to exchange the gender locked ones for corresponding gear of the opposite gender which wouldn't have a negative impact on anyone.
