Party Finder RMT selling clears and items

Honestly I wish all the (non RMT) listings for selling runs and gear, static and FC recruitment type stuff could just be put in a separate Advertisements tab or something. I don't really mind if someone posts they are selling the newest crafted gear for a lower price... Just don't make me look at it when I am trying to find actual content to run.

If you aren’t positive that the run-selling is RMT, then the player really hasn’t done anything wrong.

It’s like anything else in the game- a player has put in the time to be able to sell a product that has some kind of demand. Another player doesn’t want to put in the effort to do it themselves, but has the means to pay for the service.

It’s essentially the same as paying a crafter for their products.

Moreover, if some kind of content built for 8 people can be done with 7, perhaps the content isn’t really that difficult -or- the 7 man team has earned some kind of right to “sell” their skills.

Ultimates and some current raid tiers require 8-man for mechanics like LR in E8S but there are "other ways" to run 8 man with only 7 ppl or less which is why they always say to meet somewhere else. I think feigning ignorance to the fact that despite you can't assume that what they are posting on PF is RMT, you can't deny that it is sketchy. It's the same reason you see ppl posting feet pics and other things in the PF. As long as the actual transaction is not happening in the game then there's no issue (which is messed up imo).

If he's not doing anything the owners of that playground can't do anything and it's up to the parents to just ignore or move away from him. A hyperbolic example, yes, but the point is these clear sellers are cluttering up the PF and sadly I had to blist some players who I have raided with before and are pretty good players but I hate seeing those clear sells. Really cheapens the achievements of Ultimates imo.

Not saying I condone RMT, but I am more “innocent until proven guilty”.

And there really isn’t anything I can do to prove otherwise- that’s on SE to investigate.
All that said, if ultimates can be done by 7 people, I would say that’s more of a mistake to where either SE made it too easy, or the player skill is that good. If in-game currency is to be made there, I do not blame the players.

Most people selling ingame are not Rmting they are doing it for gil. And I see nothing wrong with it, it is not different then people asking crafters to make something. How my guild bought our large house in the ARR days when they first launched.

Now the ones who are "if you want a clear contact me in X discord to discuss"... then you are getting into the fishy situations where rmt is more likely involved since the deal is being done outside the game where SE will not ban you for doing rmt deals.

I can't imagine being naive enough to believe these run sellers aren't RMT. I wonder how many people intentionally obfuscating the issue by saying "b-but what about gil?" are actually themselves personally involved in selling runs for real money.

With that said, it's a moot point, because they shouldn't be allowed to spam the party finder with their garbage anyway. It should be banned, or SE should make a separate PF tab for advertising that doesn't shove it in your face every time you open it up.

Is there a right click > report bot function? Or anything like that?

I've been seeing bots out in full force lately. All the midlanders with default faces and gibberish names sinking into the ground and glitching out of existence. Each time I play on a non-locked server I see at least a few per play session.

How does this work exactly? The bots I mean. I'm always been curious about it. I saw them a couple of times (names like ahsgksdfksdfksdfbsdkfbsdkbf or something, with "Wanderer" title), standing at the same spot, teleporting... what does these bots even do when they do that? What advantages does the person using them are gaining for using them like that?

The only way they can sell you an ultimate clear is through account sharing which is against the TOS. It simply cannot be done with only 7 active players and no party will teach you the fight as this would take hours or days as one mistake is usually going to wipe the group. Selling a clear means they will log in with your account and play with your character to get you what you want. So even if it is not RMT it is still a bannable offense.

Actually, both UCOB & UWU (alledgedly, but with one person just staying dead to still have LB3) have been 7-manned due to substat & potency inflation & gear changes in SHB have made the dps checks much easier. They're extremely difficult 7-manned, don't get me wrong, but it is -technically- possible a group could 7-man sell those Ultimates through gil completely legit. TEA is the one that's impossible to 7-man. Whether they would or not is a different question, just addressing that is is indeed -possible-.

That's the problem right there - can't report someone for RMT just based on a hunch.

Its simple then, ban advertising through the game if you won't talk about the terms of the ad in the game.


Problem solved.


I don't see how people can condone this, while yelling about SE not doing enough to ban gil sellers.
