Regarding Firmament Titles For 5.3

I dont understand when people say they are happy with this decision, because they dont have to go through this grind again?!?
It may sound weird but, you dont have to do this you know? Its not like Its your duty, or your characters life depends on it. Its a game where you play to chill or whatever other reason you have, not your job I understand reasoning of so called "achievment hunters", they will do it because they want to. No one is forcing anyone to craft or gather for ranking lol

I mentioned this in the other thread, but I don't see anything that actually confirms that past winners can't compete again and take a spot even though they already have the title. I'd love to see this also confirmed.

Welp, thanks for nothing I guess. Once again SE proves they either absolutely don't get achievement hunting, or just absolutely hate any one that tries to do it and actively spite us whenever they can. Was really hoping I wouldn't have to go through with this again, but I guess I need to prepare my anus for SE's "thank you" reaming. The fact that they think they're doing us a FAVOR is doubly insulting. You ain't doing us a favor, you're screwing us even harder by making us work anyways and not even giving us a title for the work now. All I can hope is the competition won't be as crazy with no new title on the line, but it most likely will be worse because, yeah, title or not, people gonna do it for what is now a unique achievement. FOMO is a thing SE needs to wrap their heads around and try to avoid, not encourage needlessly.

I love the "we kept the title because RP'ers might want it" reasoning. Like, really? RP'ers now are so important they need to make content design decisions around them?

And again. Those points you chase do NOTHING. They give you NOTHING and aren't publicly shown. Nor do people go looking for them. But you're saying you'll basically take something from somebody who doesn't have what you have (the title) for this useless show of numbers. That's scummier than the people that would have shown up and grabbed the new titles even if they had the first ones had they ended up adding new ones. Any other content that's fine, hunt away. But this type of play is cringe

Saying "I don't get what's so great about achievements, therefore nobody should care about them" is a pretty lame argument. Imagine the angry mob if I said that about RP? PVP? Savage raiding? Honestly pretty disappointing seeing the creator of this thread with that kind of mentality...

Because some people are title hunters, or want to see if they can place, or are achievement hunters. Would I do it again for another title? I may have, not sure. I was on the fence because it is extremely time consuming to place Top 12 (especially if you are doing it like I did and gather most of your own mats and then craft them). No it's not a job and it is a choice. But one that I may have done again for a new title. I'm just glad now that it's not a new title. And everyone knows it's a game and everything is a choice to do it or not. And honestly, I probably would have chosen to sit this next season out anyway because I know what's involved. But it's competitive and not something we've had before for gathering and crafting - and a lot of people are interested in it.

I don't think they are holding to that, not the way I read it. I think they should stick to that, but not sure they will since achievements are different.

Past winner can participate, how else are we gonna get our season 3 achievement along with season 2 XD

But I won't push as hard as last season for sure. It wasn't fun crafting at work in the back office secretly.

Lastly, I am the few that enjoy this ranking challenge and love to see the achievement page from time to time.

So ya, I will admit to be a gatekeeper. (plus i want to make sure i put my penta meld to good use lol)

Yeah, that is what I'm confused about. It certainly sounds like people can participate again, but they won't be giving you any new rewards besides the achievement. Direct confirmation would be nice, however! I'm was already not going to participate this time around since I already got the title last time and it was incredibly time-consuming. I was probably crafting for 8 hours a day. Totally not worth it. Good luck to all the people about to go up against the bot hordes though. I'll be rooting for you.

Same - I had thought about it if it was a new title but it was so. very. time. consuming. But now that it's definitely not I'm not doing it this go around either. But I'll be rooting everyone else on!
