Regarding Firmament Titles For 5.3

Unless they make it so that those who already have the titles are ignored for the leaderboard. I got the impression this was the plan when the titles were originally announced for 5.2.

That is the plan. "If you graduated in season 1 you do NOT have to participate again". They ended up not going back on this. All they did was add new achievements. Meaning you in no way have to/need to participate again

And again. Those points you chase do NOTHING. They give you NOTHING and aren't publicly shown. Nor do people go looking for them. But you're saying you'll basically take something from somebody who doesn't have what you have (the title) for this useless show of numbers. That's scummier than the people that would have shown up and grabbed the new titles even if they had the first ones had they ended up adding new ones. Any other content that's fine, hunt away. But this type of play is cringe

If anyone is taking anything from anyone then the blame is on SE for setting up the parameters for the rankings in this way. They could easily prevent the previous title holders from being eligible to get the season 3 achievement, but they have decided against it and even condoned people doing it multiple times in their Lodestone post.

but thats how ppl play their games, there a re a lot of achievment players out there in all kind of games, and in MMOs there are the most of achievement hunter

we can play the game hower we want, i dont tell you either how you should play the game, so let us achievment hunter get them
just saying that the decision they made now is sad for all players that want the titels, because there will be ALOT of players that will do them even if they had the titel

Here's the thing though. You're actively sitting here going "I feel so bad for those who won't get titles because of hunters. Me? Nah forget those kids. I'm still doing it. I just feel bad". You just. SImply don't do it. That's it. Easy as that. It's what, 10 points at most. That's it. Period. Don't do it. lol Just like many of us stated we weren't going to do it even IF there were new titles. i can feel sad about players that dont get it, even if i do it again, its SE decision that they make it that way, not mine
and its still a feedback thread, so i writing my concerns about that in here

I'm going to feel slightly guilty about depriving people of the top 12 achievements if I decide to rank just for the achievement's sake.

The thing I'm curious about is how things will be handled if someone who already has the title places in the top 12 again.
Are they going to be able to deny people the title or do they effectively just not count towards the top 12 anymore?
I'd honestly try to top 12 again just for achievements but I'd feel kind of guilty about it if it means depriving someone of the title.

most likely you will get the mog letters again with the two titles and you need to throw them away

Exactly, as long as it's an achievements and points associated with it, I will be doing the new season. While for the majority of people, it's just the Title that is the goal, for myself and a handful of people, the achievements and the points have always been the main goal.

That being said, there are only a handful of us who will be going purely for achievements/points so hopefully this change to keep the title the same will give more people a chance. I personally only know like 4-5 people who are really into achievement hunting and that's it.

I would rather them have not added any type of new achievement at all... but I'm glad that they did make at least a small change. I think it will cut out the majority of people who were thinking they would have to do this content a second time.

Well good to finally have an answer (still wish the GMs would report back from time to time..) and I guess its alright. Not 100% happy about the achivements changing but at least we get to keep the same titles...

Thank you to the community teams who collected and forwarded our feedback to Yoshida! It's great to have gotten a response about this!

I think this is a good compromise, and personally I'm pretty happy with this change. It's a different achievement, but like many others I'm only after the titles; a small "Phase II" and "Phase III" appended at the end is not distinct enough to make me compete again. This will absolutely help reduce the competition for the players who don't have the title yet.
