Why does everyone want Chemist as a new job?

From those, we can already see a few ways that Chemist can work in FFXIV as a healer. Wielding a special gun that could shoot alchemical effects, giving it a long range weapon for using its skills. Mix would allow it a Mudra-ish system allowing for multiple interesting buffs and heals to be created depending on the mixture.

nah this is FFXIV. You're going to get your one damage spell, your one DoT, your cure clone and a cure 2 clone and a regen/shield and you're gonna like it.
